Did the Director actually watch the final edit??
6 March 2023
I barely watched more than half of the first episode for one very simple reason, that being, I couldn't see what was going on. The grading, brightness and contrast is so dark, even in sequences that are supposed to be under bright sunshine, you can't see what's going on. You can't see faces to tell what expression they have. You can't see buildings or their surroundings. You can't see anything. I'm watching on a 65" OLED and it's just a dark smear across the screen with a vague flickering of candlelight. It could be the greatest series ever filmed, but not being able to see what's actually going on in the scenes spoils any chance of enjoyment. Hard pass from me as a result.

Disappointed cause I hoped for more especially...
11 April 2022
...cause we have Sofia Black who I thought was great in The Messengers, Your Honor & The Night of... as well as Ally Sheedy, but it should've been called "Cliché - One After Another" It oozes of being written, directed and/or produced, probably all three, by people who've only ever read about addiction or seen it in other peoples work because it is a constant stream of cliché after cliché after cliché followed by a healthy dose of "you could see that from miles away." After the first episode you already know ALL the plot lines and what happens in the end. It's beyond formulaic.

Lastly, on a completely different subject, who knew Ally Sheedy has been in so many productions since Breakfast Club - I didn't realise until I looked to see if it really was her playing the Mom. #mindblown.

One of those cartoons that Adults can enjoy
23 September 2021
Came across this cartoon by happy happenstance and have been enjoying each episode more and more as I go through them. Before anything else happens the team behind it need to get an award for dreaming up sooooooo many different alien species each with their own unique idiosyncrasies - definitely some huge imaginations being employed there. They're on par with Rick & Marty aliens for comic relief and depth. If you love cartoons you won't regret spending your time watching Elliot, his Mom & their adventures with a dinosaur that's short sighted fumbling their way about a new world. Great fun.

Hollywood wokeness runs riot
16 June 2021
Ten minutes in and the artificial townsfolk is so far removed from reality it's ridiculous. The casting director has clearly been ticking boxes rather than choosing a cast that is an accurate representation of a small rural back water American town. All of that is before we get to the costume design...

Getting dumber & dumber and continually rehashing previous episodes
23 April 2021
This show used to be really good and quite informative but the last few seasons have gotten dumber & dumber. If you're interested in this subject enough to watch the series, you're going to have some basic knowledge of the universe but this series seems to assume that only five year olds are watching.

Also I have lost count of how many episodes I've watched explaining to me what a black hole is & there's one at the centre of most galaxies, how the sun turns hydrogen into heavier elements, Titan is covered in hydrocarbon seas and the moons of Saturn & Jupiter have different surfaces from frozen oceans to sulfureous volcanos.

Please stop treating the audience like they're all morons, assume they know that NASA rovers are on Mars and that the reason they're watching is to actually learn something new.

What the hell is this? Another Disney disaster
15 January 2021
Yes, I've only seen two episodes and yes I realise the premise is based on I Love Lucy crossed with Bewitched. Just one problem, those two shows were brilliant and funny. This series is a heap of rubbish and tries to be something that it will never be... a classic American Sitcom. To be fair I will give another couple of episodes a chance, it to keep me beyond that the show needs to pull a miracle, which sadly I don't think it will be able to deliver. Yet again Disney has failed dismally with established cannon.

Talk about stretching the truth
14 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Watched the first episode. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure the Dad video of the "strange three paire flippered lake monster" is a family of otters swimming in single file. The host tries to make something out of nothing all the way through.

Padded out to the point of being boring.
21 October 2020
The opening sequence gives the impression that Maria and her team are going to investigate the possibility of more crimes committed by Todd, then for the next four hours all you get is recaps of the known crimes. This whole three part series, each part being one hour and twenty five minutes could have been condensed into a single 60 minute episode.

Couldn't stop laughing my a*** off.
27 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I've persisted with this show, just because I need a good laugh once a week and this helps. The wild assumptions the "team" make each week from the most mundane evidence is hilarious. The last episode is the best. The find a mine which may have been a cinnabar mine, a highly poisonous substance to humans, is the home of Bigfoot - who apparently is immune to the same poisonous cinnabar. Then they "find" a marble that they supposedly left on a tree stump in an earlier episode. They determine this was "gifted" back to the "team" - I use the word team in the most loosely of ways. So a bird couldn't have found it and dropped it whilst flying back - considering that some bird species love shiny, colourful things for their nests. But what makes me laugh the most is the professional ridicule Dr. Mireya Mayor - an expert primatologist- has opened herself up to after participating in this farce. I feel the chances of Mireya ever being asked on an accredited research expedition for National Geographic have been greatly reduced when her professional collègues see her performance in this series. If you need a laugh & giggle then give this series a go, but if you're after genuine scientific research into the Big Foot "myth" look elsewhere.

I feel sorry for Archie
23 November 2019
Just finished watching the first episode a bit & terrible is the only way I can describe this. I only gave it a go cause of Archie & Plummer being in it, but alas I just wasted 42mins of my life that I can't get back. Obviously someone in the UK has tried to do a big blockbuster thriller series which the US of A TV studios are pretty good at delivering, however this UK series pales in comparison. To say the acting is wooden would be an understatement. They (the writers, directors, producers, some of the actors) all aimes high but failed dismally. That's before you get to the fantastical plot ideas that are just laughable - no spoilers. Watch the first one & a half episodes and you'll see what I'm on about. Archie. Just be rueing the day that Michelle & Robert King ca,e to work one day and told her The Good Wife gig was over (Or did she leave of her own accord, I don't know, but either way she must be ruminating.)

Great insight into another 'online scam'
25 September 2019
Firstly, why do I know that the above reviewer 'random-70778' works for Yelp? They've reviewed this documentary in exactly the same way that Yelp works

Anyways, this is really interesting and give you cause to think about those reviews you're reading online, not only with Yelp, but on all sites where reviews can be left.

Can't decide if this is meant to be a comedy...
14 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
...or a serious show. Each episode consists of two brothers making wild assumptions and playing with gadgets whilst travelling across North & South America. I've not laughed so much at a show like this since I saw Josh Gates go swimming with reef sharks - some of the most placid sharks of all, but he acted like they were all 18m Great Whites. I guess the brothers need some kudos for getting a production company to actually hand over a couple of big bags of cash to produce an entire series. I wouldn't mind spending my time travelling across the American continent, making up stories, camping under the stars & getting to play with some 'toys'. So if you're up for a laugh give it a watch, but if you're looking to improve your intelligence give it a wide berth. By the way, Spoiler Alert - they don't find anything other than old beer cans, nails and some rebar...surprise, surprise. Oh and some spiders, but definitely no treasure.

Same old, same old
13 September 2019
This is a story which could have been told in such a more interesting and creative way, instead it follows the same old formula that every other ITV Police thriller/drama (and I use those terms incredibly loosely regarding this series) that has ever appeared on their channel. That's before I get to the camera work/technique. The whole 'handycam', shaky, zoom in and out style is way over the top. I keep on forgetting about what I've just seen because the camera all of a sudden jumps or a scene is cut at some weird intersection. Plus, there's a whole '10 years earlier' plot mixed in and I keep finding myself trying to work out which timeline I'm currently in because Imelda Staunton's character looks the same to me in both timelines. Save yourself the grief and find something else to watch, as you've already seen this programme many times previously.

What a crock of ****
12 September 2019
I was hoping for a whole lot more from this series. To say it's laughable is an insult to comedy. Their constant assertion that they're using an ex-CIA link analysis software is even more of a laugh - it's just a glorified Google search with some fancy graphics. Not to mention the constant wild assumptions that Myke Cole makes - that's without his pretentious spelling of Mike. As others have pointed out they're corrupting getting known sightings details. Then there's the guys down in South America who are just making stuff up left right and centre. How you can say that a bolt sticking out of the ground is the mounting point for a generator or that a nondescript building was some secret laboratory is beyond me. It's programs like this that give legitimate investigations into the UFO conundrum a bad name.

Clearly a rip off of Elementary
24 March 2018
That was the first thought that popped into my mind within the first five minutes of watching the pilot episode. A eccentric 'genius' and his investigative, female 'sidekick' - I'm still watching the pilot as I write this - I hope it is strong enough to stand up on its own. Alan Cummings knows what he is good at and this is another version of him playing the same kind of character as he seems to always play, but just in a different programme and costume - think The Good Wife but less up tight.
