Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee: That's the Whole Point of Apartheid, Jerry (2015)
A few truth bombs
I just started watching some of these episodes. Have been though Chris Rock, Jim Carrey and now Trevor Noah.
I am not a Jerry Sienfeld fan. Never have been. Never will be. He always came across as a comedian with not enough humility and thats is clearly evident even in this episode. Not to knock him down. Many find him relatable and funny. I do not. I think the show wouldve been better with a more relatable and organic host.
Trevor Noah has an interesting personality so he comes across more genuine even in this episode. I was today years old about many of the apartheid facts he casually dropped. Kudos to the way these episodes were shot and edited. I enjoyed how humble he sounded as well.
Green Book (2018)
The journey of two men
This is a movie about reform.
A white man's journey from throwing away water glasses because two black men drank in them. To the same man inviting a black man to his Christmas dinner.
This is also the story of a black man who would travel an hour and a half to use facilities and travel back to perform. To the same man refusing to perform because he would not be allowed to dine with dignity.
Veracity aside, rarely do you find such a subtle combination.
Just Mercy (2019)
Pacing is what kept it interesting for me.
This must be made mandatory watch for all law students. Great pacing and originality.
