Why are we celebrating a remake copy?
15 November 2022
A lot is being said about this film and If this was an original film i would have agreed with everyone but I dont understand one thing...everyone is bashing hindi films because they are making remakes and are criticised for lack of originality. This person calls it an adaptation of a novel but ends up making a copy remake of a foreign film 'burutasu no shinzou' which was made in 2011and puts some old songs and few changes, and everyone starts singing praises. Baffling and double standards!! Yes if you will take good actors then you will get a good result. But it's high time we stop praising films just for the sake of it. Personally also the film didn't work on a lot of levels and aspects just felt forced. Calling it noir or neo noir genre is just too much! Time to move past created images of so called genius directors.

What a waste of time and talent!

I fail to understand why filmmakers can't provide good content and entertainment in a short film? The story has a good thought and intention, but just to show artistic elements and restraint, the director has stretches the viewing time to 35 mins which was like a 4 hr movie in this case. Pankaj sir is great as usual but the theme could have been used better and in much less time.

A case of a what could have been a good film but not!
26 February 2022
The synopsis can give an idea to readers that the film is about love jihad and the problems it causes for couples. The director made Gurgaon earlier which was a raw and real convincing film. The setting is authentic here too and relatable. Movie begins on a decent note and establishes tension. But the sub plot is really weak and completely details the film. Seems like it has just been put to make the film a thriller but falls flat. Bobby deol's character(looks like mix of javier bardem in no country for old men and hathoda tyagi) could have been a great villain, but what he keeps doing repeatedlt without any police action make it one of the most illogical aspects of the film. Some characters like brother, cop are nicely acted. Vikrant has acted decently and shows good range. Sanya's character could have been developed more. But, Story becomes unbearable by the end. Ending is very unconvincing and back stories don't work too. Disappointed to see this film!

Flawed story, bad direction ruin good intentions!
18 February 2022
If good intentions or subjects ensured a good film, then Thursday would have been a really good film. But sadly, that's not the case. This film is not a sequel to ' A Wednesday'but the plot points are quite similar.

The story has a lot of weak elements. The kidnapping and turns around it seem childish and just to create fake shock and twists.

While Yami does act with sincerity, but the countless close in shots and her expressions are simply obnoxious. The repeated phone calls become too irritating which wasn't the case in Wednesday. When a film is designed just to cash in on a final twist without logic, and with loopholes, then you know the film is more of a gimmick. The handling of the script is extremely poor. A Wednesday is a classic and it's advisable to watch it again rather than this half baked film.

Poor story, senseless, wayward direction!!
11 February 2022
Honestly expected so much as the film had Deepika padukone in the lead & is directed by Shakun batra who made Kapoor and sons. Gehraiyan begins on a decent note but loses the plot almost immediately.

There is no build up to things and events start happening for effect(can't reveal more as that would give spoilers). Story does not go anywhere and the affair scenes become repetitive. Relationship complexities, traumatic past dont evoke any emotion as they are wayward. Too much focus on one character.

The sub plot of financial, corporate issues makes it worse. Just when you think story is headed somewhere, comes a turn which is so bizarre you can't wrap your head around it. Last act is illogical.

Songs, deepika's acting are nice. The Look of film is good but what use is all that when film fails overall!

It is all way too convinient, and ending is so abrupt. Seriously disappointed!.
