Tim Watcher (2003)
10/10
Wonderful Cinematography, Non Linear and Poetic
31 March 2005
Tim Watcher begins with a wonderful opening credits sequence and then begins to follow a man as he besets upon society. The film seems to be crafted beautifully with great locations, sets, actors and production values. The journey is non linear which tends to shun the average movie goer, but makes a great artistic statement in that life sometimes seems to have no beginning, no middle and no end .Sometimes judgement of others can lead to often a paralysis of the mind, body and soul. Tim Watcher finds that in his observation he lacks the scruples to realize his own fate, judge not.In the end of this short piece it is Tim Watcher who is being watched.

The movie begins with Tommy(Thomas Edward Seymour) carrying Rye(Philip Guerette)through Syne Hollow, an ancient forest and battle ground. The Voice of Tommy is heard describing events leading up to this moment and why they are considered 'College Prophets'.We meet the cast of characters in a blaze of comic book glory, introducing each character as if they were an Action figure. Jonah Joe( Russ Russo )is introduced heading up the bad guy unit of the film. Third Reich Jones(Champion Bodybuilder,Paul DeSimone)is also introduced as English being his second language. The film takes us through Robinson College where these broods study in the town of Pharisee, nice biblical reference, not to mention, the priest's cloak worn by the lead character Tommy throughout the entire film.We enter a world where an Evil wishing well called 'The Well that ate Children' exists almost a living, breathing force. It is awoken by the battle between Tommy and Rye over Tommy's girlfriend Bells(Tina Angelillo). The Well recruits its minions including Third Reich Jones, Billy and Million to rid the town of all that exists and feed the well its dead.A battle between the forces of man and nature.Sometimes all that man can do is.........fix its own mistakes...in the land of college prophets.

Envy (2002)
10/10
b movie, cool music, one good lead actor, Russ Russo
23 March 2005
I saw 'Envy' at the 2002 NY Independent Film Festival. I remember thinking that this was an interesting film. I think it was shot digitally and created quite a stir at the festival. It won the Buzz award that year at the festival. The movie was shot in wide shots too often for my taste, really taking away from the intimacy of the characters. It was a little uneven in some areas both in story and acting believability. The camera work seemed a little amateurish, but the director seemed to do a good job with what the material was. The music was Fab though. It made the presence of these two characters, played by one actor, even stronger. The lead actor, Russ Russo, really held the piece together.I have watched a lot of his work since and he really is hot, oh, and a good actor.I followed his work, but it looks like the guys who made this movie 'Envy' aren't doing too bad either. They got a lot of IMDb credits and I guess I'll watch for them and Russ.
