Underrated

This is a beautiful, haunting film with great cinematography and a terrific score. I understand why people might find fault in it, but I think it's perfect and is my favorite Tomie film. Oddly, a few of the reviews here mention things that aren't in the film. There's nothing about stem cell research or weird video effects, so please ignore those reviews. If you are looking for a sinister, bloody film, this is not going to satisfy you. If you are looking for the typical Tomie film, you may also be disappointed. But if you enjoy creepy drama and absurdist horror, you will be quite pleased. I absolutely loved the ending, and I felt the film had a great structure to it overall. Please give this film a chance, and watch it with an open mind. It may take some knowledge of Tomie to fully understand, so don't hesitate to check out some of the Junji Ito manga, or at least a short summary of who or what Tomie is.

Funniest Found Footage Movie I've Ever Seen
7 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I know a movie I found hilarious should be rated more than 1 for the pure fact that laughing is a wonderful thing, but this movie wasn't supposed to be funny. The dialogue was ridiculous and made me chortle quite often. The father's acting was so bad I can't believe anyone could take him seriously. There's a part where the father shouts that his wife is a you- know-what that had me laughing pretty hard. The plot was so obvious right from the start. Nothing was a surprise at all. Things that were supposed to be scary include the phone ringing and no one is there (WOW SO SCARY!), the doorbell ringing and no one is there (IMMA PEE MAHSELF!), and then they both ring AT THE SAME TIME! Can you believe it??? Unless you want a laugh, don't bother with this joke of a movie.

Nothing like a bride with a chainsaw!

Warning: Spoilers
Wow... just wow... I was expecting a mediocre film after reading comments on here but... this movie was fantastic! It was fun! It was freaky! It was exciting! I loved the main characters! I loved the ending! I loved the semi-cheesy music! I loved how I thought I was watching the wrong movie at the beginning because it was someone's wedding DVD! I totally understand why someone would hate it if they wanted another movie like the first two, but I'm not like that. I mean, the first one is amazing, but a totally different tone and style. The second one is good, but has some obvious flaws. But this one is just perfect for what it is, and it knows what it is at all times. It never pretends to be something it's not, except at the beginning when it pretends to be like the first two films (yes, I realize the irony of that statement). I think reading all the comments on here actually helped because I kinda knew what it was going to be like with people saying it was kind of a black comedy, even though that's not quite an accurate description. I just didn't expect it to be such a fun film! 10/10
