Total Recall (I) (2012)
8/10
Underrated, for sure...
18 August 2012
I do not know how many reviews that I have entered to IMDb but they are not much. This time, after just watching this movie I decided to put a note, because I went to see the Total Recall albeit all the negative reviews that I have read in this site for some days; and I'm glad that I did. As a fan of the original, I liked this new look and feel to this brilliant story. It was totally a thrill ride in terms of action. All special effects were on the edge and I enjoyed the movie from start to the end. I wasn't expecting a very original and unique interpretation before I go to the theater and since my expectations were not very high, this experience was pretty satisfying to me.

Of course your eyes always looking for a tough antagonist guy like Michale Ironside, but "Lorie" brings a new and fresh interpretation to both wife and the villain concepts. Farell is a new dimension as Hauser and I found him a bit over-serious in his role. If you put some scientific errors aside (like "The Fall"), it was very entertaining overall...

One more word for the fastidious fans of the original: Please, relax and enjoy the ride designed by the "zeitgeist". This is how movies are made today! If you like to experience an original Rekall, then see the Schwarzenegger version again and again. It was 90's and almost everything was original in those days...

A disgrace..
17 February 2009
Seriously; I felt insulted. I have not seen anything so disrespectful as this piece of crap in my whole life.

Sahan Gokbakar, the leading actor and the scriptwriter, is a famous comedian in Turkey; but his suspicious fame is not enough to save this work in the eye of the audience.. OK, to be honest, there are two or three laughable moments all over; but as a whole, this 90 minutes of horse crap leaves a very sour taste in your mind.

No story at all; full of stupid jokes and a messy collection of events without any reasonable connection whatsoever.. This -so called- "movie" is the worst "thing" I have ever seen so far in a movie theater... I am now seriously considering to sue this nonsense... Innocent people should be warned somehow. I believe that this comment (actually, warning!) is my responsibility to the people as a responsible citizen!

Bottomline: Keep away at all costs... Seriously!

A Top-notch performance!
9 September 2006
I have discovered this band about 10 years ago and no other type of musical work satisfies me then... Every member of the band is at least master on their instruments and precision and synchronism of their performances are just incredible. They redefined the term "progressive rock" in my opinion.

I saw one live show of Dream Theater in Istanbul in 2005 and... I quit to go concerts from thereon :)) Live in Budokan is not just a live performance; it is a lesson to all music enthusiasts on how to play, how to compose and how to enjoy when dealing with music.. All members have already exceeded themselves and you will definitely be amazed when you start the watch this unique show! Briefly: Just unbelievable! Thank you Petrucci, Portnoy, Rudess, Myung and LaBrie for your work... I know you will continue to amaze us for some time :))

What can I give to this brilliant work other than 10/10?

Clever, poignant, brilliant and "human"..
28 December 2005
A simple story becomes a sad and poignant movie about ordinary people.. Every person I know who had the chance to watch this wonderful movie have cried -especially during the second half.. I applause everyone involved in the production of this magnificent piece of work.. Really brilliant work, presenting some top-notch performances (esp by Humeyra and Cetin Tekindor) and a clever collection of spectacular moments. No special effects, no superhuman strengths no fantastic landscapes.. Just human and the ordinary feelings. I felt some rush to call my mom and dad just after the movie to be sure that they are OK and to make them know once again that I really care about them. This movie makes you think deeper on values that make us human and also etches itself irreversibly to your memory by touching the deepest possible regions of your soul.. Highly recommended; a must-see! Do not forget your tissue papers because you probably will not be able to keep your tears from flowing...

Thanks Cagan Irmak, and continue to blow our minds away..
