Get Lucky (2013)
Ignore the Yank reviews, quality British flick
It's similar to a Guy Ritchie film, just not quite.
Violence yip
Funny yip
Americans should avoid yip
Brightburn (2019)
Superman 2 gone wrong
OMG just tripe. First 15 you think it's gonna be leading upto something... er no. End of. Want to waste limited time in ur life, then plough on people.
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
Listen to the critics
Notice all the positive reviews are around the same date? September 19?
I rented this (UK) and so wanted to like it.
It's utter crap, The previous one was damn good, which is why I flew in the face of opinion on IMDB.
Don't do the same thing.
Don't believe me? Haha.
All the best when u watch then!
Nb, sorry Sly, I loved all the other movies,.
Kidulthood (2006)
Utterly gripping
Why aren't u watching this now?!
I'm now watching part two of the trilogy.
Jeepers Creepers 3 (2017)
Once more this community destroys a good movie
Seen the first 2, enjoyed this just as much. I'm so glad I CONTINUE to ignore the reviews.
Rise of the Footsoldier 4: Marbella (2019)
If you like British gangster films, then watch this, if not STILL watch this
Really good, I've seen all of the films in the franchise. This is the least 'gritty' of them, lots of one liners, but some good beatings dished out by Craig.
Acting is good, a few of the supporting actors weak, but nothing major.
All in all, I love this. Just rented from Apple for £5.99 and I'm left satisfied.
Once Upon a Time in London (2019)
Being British I love British Gangster films, but this isn't close to any of em
I've loved anything to do with the Essex boys, Snatch, Lock Stock, Green Street etc. This is a short review.
What Keeps You Alive (2018)
Ignore the haters
The plot I didn't predict... major plus!
Ignore the gaps in 'well I'd have done this...' and remember it's a movie!
Acting -exciting and real. Both leading ladies delivering on this movie.
B+
Long Lost (2018)
I can't believe I'm one of the 'don't believe the positive reviews' brigade on this! Arghhh!
Seriously, there's no ending on this that'll make you go 'wow'.
It'll make you go 'how'.
And probably 'why'.
Pyewacket (2017)
Seriously do not understand why this is rated north of 3/10
I enjoyed the acting, great build up...read reviews of a slow burn... end delivery...fizzle is an understatement. A Blair witch moment half way through and a couple of loud noises that 'scare'.
Read my other reviews, I don't leave many. But I felt obligated to save you wasting your time.
Avoid.
If you do watch this, you will certainly look back at this review and regret it.
The Boys (2019)
Super Awesome! And defo NOT safe for kids!
I can't say anything as it'll be a spoiler. But! If you don't like Marvel or DS then you'll love this. If you love Marvel or DS then you will love this. If you want to experience first class action, acting, direction and something new and bloody great! This is for you.
One Hundred Mornings (2009)
What?
Great acting. Jesus h c, poor script, no plot, ending...well just stopped.
I hang on given the positive reviews believing the ending must be like '6 sense' or something that made this movie worthy of the score.
Nope.
Spoilers
4 people, in a hut, it ends.
Avoid
Leave (2011)
Oh no. Seriously NO
No idea what the other reviews are about. Trust ME this is utter pants.
Nuffield said. Watch at ur own peril, and then vote for this short revie........w
Outlaws (2017)
Gritty and awesome
Strong 8 from me. Acting is excellent, great script etc. I normally shy away from Australian movies as I've found them to be overacted and boring. This is an exception, I went by the positive reviews - and am glad I did.
See You Yesterday (2019)
If you like time travel movies, then ignore negative comments!
I love movies about time travel, the continuity must be a real challenge off bat!
The two main actors I immediately liked, the story line, yes, has been done before. But for a couple of hours offers easy watching, and is sweet at times almost gritty in others. Well worth a watch.
The Age of Adaline (2015)
Beautiful
Grabs the soles from your feet, and then pulls backup over your head.
Tissue mark 9.
The Bye Bye Man (2017)
Great movie - like others not sure why scores are so low
I watched on Netflix as part of my subscription.
It's a really good flick. Acting was good, plot good, the minor amount of CGI not great, but we're talking 3 odd seconds in the entire movie for that comment.
One of my favourite movies happens to be 'They' 2002. Watch that movie which scored a dire 4.8. I'd give that movie an 8, easy. Make ur own opinion.
Like others, I'd have missed this little gem, had I have followed the low IMDB score.
I appreciate the irony in when I say 'don't trust IMDB' ratings. I'm learning that IMDB reviews and said production of movies are having to grease palms. My view anyway.
We are all familiar with 'pay per view' are we now in the realm of 'pay per review'?
Great movie, watch it.
Reach Me (2014)
Touching, funny, and an absolute must watch. Please ignore low reviews, they can't be watching the same movie
Only my second review on IMDB.
Yes, Sly is in this, which is why I thought 'watch this, he's a great actor'.
Sly has only a few scenes. He adds great gravitas to a movie that needed a big name, purely because the nature or ethos of the movie
most likely would not have been produced.
If you're looking for a 'feel good, snuggle up in front of TV with snacks on a cold day' then this is the one.
Acting 10/10 just check the cast list
Feel good factor 10/10
An awesome movie, the plot and a few twists are excellent (plot surprises) I can't recommend enough.
Enjoy!
Gunned Down (2017)
Like british gangster films?
Then you will LOVE this.
Fairbrass is amazing, as are the supporting cast.
I opened an IMDB account just to review this.
Bloody, revengeful and proper hard core flick.
If you like 'When Harry met Sally'......
9/10
Vanishing on 7th Street (2010)
Up there with 'They' another unappreciated excellent suspense horror
1) Ignore all the bad reviews 2) Get some popcorn and some beers in 3) Turn of lights (this is a must) 4) Watch and become involved in this excellent movie - its a real escape from the 'real world' and isn't that why we watch movies???
End of...
Kind of, but also watch 'They' how that film is not a cult classic I don't know.
I've been watching horrors and thrillers since 1980 - this is in my top 10, easy.
Enjoy.
St George's Day (2012)
If you love British Gangster films....Look no further
Director Debut from Frank Harper (whom i loved in Lock stock).
In my first ever review (I joined IMDb JUST to review this film) all I can say is excellent.
IF Frank had focused more on the heist, people would compare it to the Italian Job. He didn't - he focused on what British gangster movies do best, and why we love them:
Kickings Violence Believable characters - though missed Danny Dyer in this, Frank - WTF? Underpinned that England is still a force to be reckoned with
I loved this as much as the Football Factory - and (oh yes) Lock Stock.
Frank - bring more of this, top notch saaaaaan
