Disgusting, exploitative cash grab
23 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason this gets two stars instead of one is because I enjoyed it up until the last couple of episodes and the casting and acting were superb. The existence of this series is shameful, now that I know how much of it was "dramatized." They really twisted this story to make it as shocking as possible and they depicted the kids as eventually not caring about their father, which to me was the saddest part. These people are already deeply traumatized by the whole ordeal that stole years of their lives from them. What kind of person does this to a real family? Campo is truly shameless. HBO should think twice about doing this to real people.

Critics ruin the fun for all of us. This show is a gem.
18 June 2022
I'm so worried this will get cancelled because critics don't understand what's funny because they're snobs whose opinions don't matter more than anyone else's. I laughed out loud by myself about ten times and the first episode had only been on for eleven minutes. Then I watched all of the episodes and now I'd like another season, please.

Perpetuating ADHD Medication Stigma
2 December 2021
I love Explained but this episode missed the mark big time. It was never made clear that their harsh criticism of Adderall was regarding its abuse by those who don't need it as treatment for ADHD. They painted a very sad picture of someone taking a friend's medication and becoming addicted to it and then they just...didn't mention how it changes the lives of those who actually need it. I think that's irresponsible, especially considering how much the stigma already affects people, who deal with friends, family, peers, doctors and pharmacists treating them like drug addicts for attempting to treat their disorder.

Pleasantly Surprised
30 August 2021
I felt compelled to review because after the first few scenes, I was basically hate watching this movie just to see how bad it was, yet I loved the ending and believe I was misreading the tone for most of the film.

Like Eli Roth's Cabin in the Woods, this one is a satire. It's genuinely horrifying at times, extremely uncomfortable to watch, but it's also darkly hilarious. I walked out of Cabin in the Woods in theaters because it was so preposterous. Turns out I just wasn't open to what Roth was dishing out, and now I am.

Meh
24 April 2021
It has decent moments and a few thrills but it seems like they relied heavily on Amber Heard showing skin to keep (some) people interested. It's actually distracting and eye roll inducing because it's so ridiculous how often she's not wearing clothes. Overall this was a dud.

Creepy and entertaining

It's a fine thriller and worth watching. Cool soundtrack, good script, acting, cinematography, etc. It wasn't the most creative plot but it was enjoyable.

Meh.

Generic, predictable script, some semi-creepy parts but nothing amazing and could Melissa Bolona be any worse at acting? Yikes.

Well written and hilarious

It's such a shame this show was cancelled. The script, the acting, the casting...it's one of those perfect shows where everything comes together and you laugh out loud throughout. I will mourn the loss of this masterpiece forever.

Wanted to like it...couldn't.

Any of the clever jokes are lost in a sea of vulgarity and not funny jokes. I am not easily offended and I enjoy a lot of adult animation like South Park, Big Mouth, Family Guy, F is for Family, etc. This is like 75% talking about dicks. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the intro animation and song were well done.

Anyone who thinks this show is better than F is for Family...I have no words for you. F is for Family is a masterpiece. This is a miss.

Meh.

The Amityville Horror is such a great story but the actors they chose and the way they are styled is laughable. Personally, I like to see a horror where the characters are realistic and I'm not distracted by their insanely fit, half naked bodies which take me out of the story because no one but celebrities look like that. The babysitter is dresses like a hooker, for some reason...? She tries to seduce a little boy, for some reason...? Ryan Reynolds dashes around shirtless, shiny and ripped the wife looks like a supermodel. It can't be taken seriously and it's clear that they're trying to make up for a crappy movie by adding sex appeal. It's insulting to the audience and with the scary parts being weak on top of this, it's a giant fail.

Shameful
12 April 2020
What I got from this documentary is that William Powell wrote the book when he was an angry 19-year-old who had experienced a lot of trauma. Charlie Siskel (the director) set out to manipulate, corner and blame William for the disgusting acts of other people. He was relentless but unsuccessful. I would still recommend watching it because William and his wife Ochan are fascinating, lovely people.

Awful Narration, Focused on the Food Chain
1 February 2020
This docuseries plays like "When Animals Attack." The narrator's voice is beyond irritating and rather than seeing the beauty and majesty of the national parks and their inhabitants, we see animals killing each other as the narrator ensures with his tone that it's all very dramatic. Very disappointing.

Idiots Need Not Bother
31 October 2019
I am astounded by the number of bad reviews for this film. However upon reading a few dozen of them it became clear that the people who hated it do not understand it. Some are downright angry about how bad they believe it was, which I find both baffling and hilarious. It was one of the best psychological horrors I've seen in years. I'm a fan of The Shining (and all similar classics), The Babadook, It Follows, etc.

If you're an idiot with a closed mind, this one is not for you. Don't waste your time watching it and leaving a bad review because you're too dumb to understand the beauty and horror of this movie. I hope Peele continues to create smart, stunning, terrifying films like Get Out and Us!

Great for the First 4 Seasons
20 June 2018
This was one of my favorite shows of all time but it felt forced starting at season 5. We lost characters that brought so much to the show and gained characters that cheapened it. Cliche after cliche, unrealistic storylines and unnecessary nudity from a character we're supposed to respect. It became apparent that the writers were grasping at straws to keep people interested, but the show was perfect as it was.

Subtle and great.

Some of these reviews are absurd. This show is clever and stylish and it quite simply isn't for everyone.

If you don't get it, move along.

To everyone comparing this show to other cartoons made for adult audiences, please stop. To the person who described The Simpsons as "outdated" and suggested you watch Rick and Morty (also a gem, but comparison to The Simpsons is completely pointless as the only thing they have in common is that they are cartoons intended for adult audiences) instead, you, sir, are a moron.
