For One Night (2006)
Not consistent
This was depicting a true story from 1970, the characters, sets and wardrobe were not consistent. Part of what makes history is, well, history. This story should have been told in the timeframe it actually happened in. The idea of a segregated prom being integrated was there, but the reality of the time period was not. The highschool and the students were right out of the early 2000's. When they were at school it was like a Disney made for TV movie, then all of a sudden the parents would show up and then we were in 1970?! It was all quite confusing. If the history were honored, the bravery and courage of the students would have all had been honored, instead it was more of a caricature.
How to Fall in Love (2012)
Classic Hallmark, but better!
This story is so fun, acting is great! Eric Mabius is a classic actor with charm and he is funny.
Secrets of a Marine's Wife (2021)
True Story, okay movie, but a little off.
This is based on a true story. I live in the town where it happened. They did not depict marines accurately. She was not killed in Joshua Tree National Park, but in the desert east of 29 Palms. They did not film in the desert and it was obvious it was not our area. The acting was ok.
Dear Viola (2014)
Classic Feel Good
I have liked Kellie Martin since I saw her as Christy. This is a cute film that address some tough issues in a Hallmark style. Her outfits are adorable. I gave it and 8 because the character "Jamie" was a little over the top and kitchy.
Rear Window (1954)
My favorite movie.
Of all Hitchcock movies, this is my favorite. At first you don't realize the entire movie exists in one room, except for the last scene. The use of cinematography to get various angles and perspectives is classic Hitchcock. Jimmy Stewart is an amazing actor, Grace Kelly is simply elegant. Thelma Ritter is hilarious.
