Beef: We Draw a Magic Circle (2023)
Fantastic Episode!
This episode finally delivers some payoff, mainly with Danny's storyline.
Danny and his brother Paul start getting along again and Isaac continues to get more comfortable with the church.
A nice detail from this episode is when we see Isaac being nice to Danny, which to me is a genius way of showing how manipulative he is, considering the way he's been acting up until this point.
Amy and Danny finally meet again face-to-face to clear the air, which hints to them possibly squashing the beef.
By the end of the episode, it's strongly hinted that Danny put the blame on Isaac for the road rage incident. Then we are treated to a beautiful basketball montage with the song 'Machinehead' by 'Bush' playing in the background, showing that Danny is going to devote more time to the church.
Beef: The Birds Don't Sing, They Screech in Pain (2023)
Good Opening Episode
A good introduction to the show, with good pacing and a strong cast.
The episode started and ended strongly with enough of a hook and fitting soundtrack to keep you tuning in.
It's clear from the beginning that our lead characters have some issues but aren't all bad. At least not as bad to the point where we don't want to follow them.
It's cool to see Steven Yeun playing a different type of character and he's one of the main reasons I started watching this show.
I'm not too familiar with the other lead, Ali Wong. So far though, they both do a great job of leading the show and I'm looking forward to watching more.
Cobra Kai: Long, Long Way from Home (2022)
Good Premiere
I like the direction it's heading so far.
The Mexico storyline is getting interesting, still a majority of this episode is build-up for what's to come.
There are a lot of moments and jokes in this episode that I could see coming from a mile away.
I found it strange how simple-minded Miguel was in his opening scene, then I realized he's still a teenager. Still a unique scene and the payoff to that moment became the most satisfying part in the episode.
With the exception of some of the slapstick humor so far, I can tell I'm really going to enjoy this season. Season 4 is probably my least favorite season so far and season 5 appears to be heading in a different direction.
Diabolical: One Plus One Equals Two (2022)
Homelander's Origin
This show excels best when it focuses on the characters we know from the comics/show.
While other storylines are appreciated, this episode was the best one to end the season on.
It was great to get inside the mind of this character and learn that it doesn't take much to make him snap.
Diabolical: I'm Your Pusher (2022)
Simple, Quick and Fun!
An episode I believe many fans we're looking forward to and it did not disappoint.
Amazon Prime is in need of some more 'the boys' content and I would definitely like to see more episodes featuring the comic book version characters.
Diabolical: Boyd in 3D (2022)
Didn't care for the ending
A solid and funny episode for the most part.
I'm torn because the ending wasn't too unexpected and is fitting considering how we're supposed to feel about vought.
Still I thought the episode was doing a great job at getting their message across and the black mirror style twist at the end didn't vibe with me.
S.W.A.T.: Trigger Creep (2019)
The Billings
As a long-time fan of The Shield it was a pleasure to see Detective Billings make an unexpected return. Knowing this show has the same creator I would love to see more shield characters brought back if possible.
The next closest thing we have is Dutch in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation playing 'IA Officer Wagenbach.'
Is the last name a coincidence? I don't think so.
I understand there are a few shield actors that are featured in this show, however this is the first time (I'm aware of) an actual character has returned.
Overall the episode was decent, probably not the kind of show I'd watch every week, however I'm interested in checking out a few episodes here and there.
Rush Hour: Pilot (2016)
Surprisingly Good!!!
The first episode does a good job of re-inventing the first movie. While taking certain elements out so that it doesn't drag out the same story/case into one whole season.
*SPOILER* I am impressed that the show was able to resolve this case in only one episode, and doing a pretty good job of it.
The actors do a good job of portraying the roles of Lee and Carter, and really show their friendship evolve throughout the episode. I am really interested to see how other cases are introduced throughout the season in future episodes.
I also hope that they are able to change locations for each season e.g) Hong Kong, Paris, New York, etc. (if we get another season).
Mr. D: Wrestling for Love (2016)
This show is definitely improving
A really funny episode that is a huge step up from most. I usually don't enjoy the side story lines in this show, because they are usually kind of silly and ridiculous and not very funny, but this time these story lines (specifically the Simon and Bobby scenes) had me laughing the loudest even compared to Gerry's.
Still silly but very funny and very good writing, and I hope they keep this up because I was pretty close to finish watching, but this episode reminded me that I should still stick with it and show my support the best way I can, by writing this review.
Overall 9/10 Might be a little generous, but it's okay.
Booker: Crazy (1990)
Great Show of Booker's Detective Skills
This is one of the greatest episodes of Booker, and even better than some of the best episodes of 21 jump street. This episode is very fast paced, and never gets boring, something that 21 jump street kind of had problems with. In this episode, A serial killer that Booker caught back when he was a cop, has escaped and is threatening to kill him.
This episode shows Booker more paranoid, and starting to lose it, but it is great to see in this episode. We get to see Booker's detective skills and the sweet climax at the end that makes the episode even better. Overall, I have not been disappointed with this show, and this episode shows.
Entourage: Give a Little Bit (2009)
Good Enough To Be Series Finale
This episode was definitely series finale worthy, compared to the actual series finale. It is longer, the ending is less opened and feels more complete. It focuses on every main character's story line, even though I didn't like Turtle's as much, it felt like something that should of been finished in the episode before this.
Eric and Sloan are now engaged, which was nice to finally see. Also, Matt Damon was a great guest star and actually really funny, and was actually the highlight of Vince's weird story line with him for some reason not wanting to give to charity.
Overall, the ending was perfect, and of course Ari getting revenge and finally after putting Lloyd through all that torture, finally made him an agent was great as well.
Bates Motel: Norma Louise (2015)
Best Episode So Far!!!
This episode was amazing as the episode immediately starts off with non-stop craziness. All of the story lines were interesting (as usual), but all of these story lines take place on the same night which is even more exciting. It shows the ugliness into where Norma is being reminded of in this episode, which shows why she should be home.
I jumped when Sheriff Romero got shot, but he was able to survive his wounds. Then the wannabe Sheriff shows up and offers him a job to be his right hand man, because Romero is smart he says that he'll think about it. Now usually in episode 6 of every season, there is a character death, and I didn't expect Romero to kill that wannabe Sheriff so soon, and especially like that loud mess.
After this episode, it now shows why people want Dylan and Emma to get together, but that can be kind of complicated since Norman and Emma are dating(if they still are). Dylan and Emma watch over Norman to make sure he doesn't freak out too much, which we see him killing a bird and showing an imaginary dog which I believe was supposed to be the dog that he stuffed after it died by a moving car in front of Norman in season 1.
Also, who could forget Norman really turning into Norman and Dylan uncomfortably playing along. The episode could have ended with a cliffhanger, but luckily Norma comes home and decides to bring Norman and Dylan to talk to Caleb. The episode sort of ended nicely, but very emotional, and now I can't wait to see how things wrap up this season.
21 Jump Street: Back from the Future (1990)
Worst Episode in the series!!!
The only reason I didn't give this episode a 1/10 was because of the flashbacks and bloopers in the end credits. I give it a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 because of the fact that this isn't a dream sequence. The way the characters futures are presented are absolutely ridiculous and even a little bit depressing. It is amazing to see how Fuller is still alive while the other characters look older than he does, which is kind of hard to believe. (SPOILER FOR THE MOVIE) The way Hanson and Penhall's story ends in the movie isn't as great, but I would much prefer that than this. The movie is kind of unnecessary to mention in this review anyway.
