The Irregulars (2021)
Victorian era story with so many modern nuances.
Seriously dude so many modern nuances that would not just fly back in the day. You would rather be hanged then talk about it back in the day. Yes it is a fiction but nevertheless not victorian enough. It feels like a hypocrite especially while we accuse the likes of Trump and co of attempting to re-write history with their so called alternative facts. 5 stars for production value and whatever good concept but the script could not support the concept.
Pata Nahi Par Bolna Hai: A Comedy Special by Karunesh Talwar (2019)
awesome!!
Brilliant job highlighting social issues via stand up.
Daybreak (2019)
good but too many sub plots
Its really good but there are too many subplots and that makes each episode too long. too many sub plots really do not help when you have too many characters to follow. in the long run the series starts getting boring because of so many characters and stories to follow. some of those characters dont even have strength to build up an individual story item.
Locke & Key (2020)
how to make coming of age psychedelic?
As i said its just coming of age drama with concocted magic and mystery. Basically the show producers have made it how a teenager high on life would like to see his/her own life go. But it is a fresh take. Interesting but not extraordinary. It does play out on the theme of nostalgia in the sense that the kids get acquainted with the same issues as that of their parents and the problems are passed down from generation to generation. I haven't read the comics though and if everyone else says this is the watered down version, i would have preferred more violence.
Toy Story 4 (2019)
should have been titled woody's emancipation story
A good story line with conflict and crisis with refreshing introduction of new characters. just like all other previous movies there is the protagonists commitment and and antagonist with its own different perspective just that the antagonist is not a pure evil here. but still misses the charm required, like the 3rd one. one of the novel theme to the series is the long awaited redemption for the protagonist and i guess there could not be a better end to this story.
Murder on the Orient Express (2017)
not up to expectation
They could have done much worse. Thank god they didn't. I suggest watching S12 E3 of Agatha Christie's Poirot, the best depiction of Christie's classic Murder on the Orient Express, so far.
Natsamrat (2016)
Classic. Phenomenal.
IMDb simply describes it as the story of a retired actor and his wife cast away by their children. But it is indeed much more than that. What is so special about actors, i have always wondered. and Nana Patekar, with his marvelous acting, just explains why a great actor is indeed great. This movie deserves 10 stars just for Nana's acting alone. Nana's role is wonderfully scripted. And as always, his dialogue delivery is the best.
