Hidden Jewel
This movie is all good in intent, but there are some hidden agendas in this mix, which possibly could have toppled its possible success. Basically, the actors are all good in intent, but they had to try possibly painfully hard to stay positive and make an intellectual point, in how they acted and what that says. Some of it is redundant, and some things stick out. For example, you can tell that Jay, the son of Jafar, makes a smile for the feelings of being different and modest. It made him one of my favorite characters and overall seemed extra meaningful in the big scheme of the movie as a whole. I'm 1/2 Asian, and I connected with him more than Mulan's daughter. His ethnicities are as follows: paternal - Scottish, Russian, possibly Blackfoot Native American maternal - Japanese, Chinese, Korean.
A 2nd point of the story, which led me to my rating, was that they presented it well, and tho a bit clashing yet modest, the art and fashion in it.
As to the importance of the hidden message, which seemed to emulate secret things.. I think it seemed a bit startling and a lot of chaos. Honestly, they all acted on command like in Operand conditioning of a dog salivating at the sound of a whistle unfortunately however.. like that they were spiteful of good things, which is the nature of how they would act, anyway. I am proud they have this message in the movie, which others probably caught, tho it seems "secret.." I think naturally it was taken in a weird way. I would understand if anyone found it perplexing and even annoying.
I'll justify my rating saying that it really seemed confusing and hopeless. However, Mal, Malificent's daughter, is also what made me give it higher than a 1. The art was not together at all, it seemed. It did seem hectic, like Dark Shadows starring Johnny Depp and directed by the animator and director Tim Burton. My only guess is that the cast wasn't together right like family, like they didn't know why they were there. In a way, I don't know why they were there cuz I've applied to agencies and never got called back. None of what I say is intended to be a negative connotation. I'm just saying it was an arousing, constantly thought-probing experience that makes me feel charged with perplexion. I would however think and agree that it would make others wonder why they are into watching it, a strange experience.
I did learn a lot from how nice the actors were and what they were able to put into it. Everyone seemed dodgy darting around, in ways.
So, in between, a lot of good feelings came about. They were happy but not very much about it being Disney characters. I wish films these days would just bring out the glamour etc. of actors more rather than just pretend the world is like they are now often, modest. In other words, I think we're all ready to see the people who are lucky in ways like having white blonde hair to be seen more in Hollywood. It would make it exciting and hopeful. Nothing wrong with dark hair. Even colored people want more for the fairer people. I know from experience of feeling some of that rejection in that regard.
While I say the artistic action in strange ways brought it down by being, like, contemporary, it was the reason I didn't give it a 1. It was also very Burtonesque. It's more like Burlesque and not Baroque like Bach nor classical like Beethoven. It seems like the type of art of Polluck who splashes paint over the art surface numerous times and calls it probably the real art. Perhaps, he's a traditional artist trying to be like everyone else. I would just expect a Disney movie like this be more traditional not only in art but the singing breaks, too! I accompanied a play once with music, and it was a good play if you knew it.. but they said the music breaks is what kept them going.
I'll say in case, there is no offense to anyone. Operand conditioning is not always that bad of a thing, for instance, and wasn't intended to be suggestive for any reason. If you know what you know, the response can sometimes be obvious, but I won't get into relaying all the secrets in this, while not fighting about, seems to need to be addressed and checked, perhaps by the people involving themselves in them. It is important and in need of addressing. People probably do exchange mutual noticings of things in this that seem to clash, in any general case. I was about to add something else but forgot. Like I said, I don't actually mean to fight, but I feel pressed for things. It seems they just want us to listen to take it in stride and even in some cases set down our heavy luggage, so-to-speak, and remember what we learned in this. 1 reason I know they might have had these things is to settle issues and entertain. 2 they might really think they are in a position to teach others a lesson. I did catch that people caught on and agreed the chaos was uncalled for and the result of silliness or ignorance.
There's more to be said on this film, including artistically. If you ask me if I hope they make more like this, I'll have to say in some ways yes but of course others no. This movie is different, and it's okay if some movies are like this in general in certain ways.
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)
Dazzling
The crowning jewel of the movie was the female heroine Ilsa. She has a Swedish father and grew up in Sweden. Her mother is English and moved to Sweden when she was 25. I also personally found it interesting when the people in the "torture chamber" spoke in a foreign language that sounded Norse, and that included Ilsa. She had a good British accent, as well. I know from experience that Nordic people often are big and stocky and tall and fair. I think it is the people from the Netherlands that are probably thinner-appearing. I've also learned from experience that Nordic people possess a certain air about them which can be described as "calm, cool, and collected." They seem at one with the land, which is cool and easy.
The reason I went in and watched this time was because the 1st time I ran into it was walking to a movie theater using a printed map from in my college dorm room in 2006 for MI:III, which was big at the time. I heard the loud theme music leaving the theater as the last crowd left the little theater. It sounded like an organ from where I was and very cool. I went in to watch but am not used to things like choosing to see Star Wars and knowing about Pirates of the Caribbean, which I heard was good and became obsessed about. So, I left the theater soon after it started and headed "home."
Another reason this title may deserve a 7 is because the acting was so smooth and really made a positive statement and seemed rather productive. The actors all seemed to have intelligent vibes. They are older than me, so it makes me wonder about it.
I read the synopsis in advance and checked out some of the actors because I knew I would be at a loss for what was going on. It helped a lot, but I was able to focus and know some of what was going on in the movie, anyway, tho still not a lot.
I think other than that there is a female this should be "Tom Cruise's movie." I probably did not catch all that a lot of people did, but he was definitely very nice, friendly, considerate, hopeful, generous even, etc.
I think the motley group of guys in this is very well together and extremely positive, intelligent, and alert. They were cute, as well.
To be honest, you'd see this movie for a big hit not necessarily in your own realm of interest, which can be a hinted issue in the fact there is an opera in it to interest other groups. You know, it's like putting a Halloween pumpkin in a comic strip. I didn't really need to see it, but I like to see whatever's out. I learned most from the Swedish lady and enjoyed how well together the men were.
Pixels (2015)
Another Rare Gem
I give this title its worthy 7/10 for "following the rules" in the art of filmmaking. Why? It has all the elements to make for a worthy piece of art! It has both good acting and good actors involved in lead roles.
To be honest with you, the reason this gets a higher rating from me is because of the art involved. I was an artist as a child, you might say, and I am just so amazed and tickled at what I find in children's/family movies today!
To be honest with you, the reason this gets a higher rating from me is because of the little orange creature that got left behind. I realize it's just a film but was still a little sad the creature got turned into a woman because someone missed his childhood heroine, the obsession of his life.
Every film has some catch or tool that makes you like it, like I spoke of in Minions. It seems to appear into fruition some 3/4 of the way in.
The Gallows (2015)
Nostalgic
I had 2 main reasons for seeing this. 1, I see any horror movie that comes out in theaters that reaches my knowledge in my search for good movies for me. 2, this was meaningful to me to soak in children/"kids" in a high school, reminiscent to me of the mystery that seemed to cloak my school experiences in mainly high school, college, and a school in the oldest continuing city in the US attached to the oldest Christian/Catholic church parish in the US, strangely enough.
Was I satisfied? Yes, I was. My favorite part was when they are trapped and hear the noises in the distance in some other remote area or disconnected room. Them being trapped was, true, another determining force to the interest in this. I think these noises set the scene the most. I'm guessing most people think the shadowy figure with the rope was the symbolic memory for them with this showing.
Minions (2015)
A Russian Doll
The movie was made in good heart and intent to entertain I felt, and in the end it did not seem as tho it fell short of that mark. It was just a nice "movie" for patient folk. I think what appealed to the crowd was the appeal, like how attractive certain characters were.
For me, there were 2 big things. It involved the city I lived in, which makes me sit up and smack my hands together. The biggest part tho was when there was a rat. It was so cute, didn't look particularly fake nor too realistic in ways. I have loved art/animation since I was 3, and I loved this rat!
I think one of the other most intelligent parts, if not a most important point, was the way they made doing crime an accepted even "family" activity. It just made it all the more real, the way movies today keep seeming to make the bad guys good---but this was genius! The way they acted seemed so strong it jumped out at you, the way you imagine a bad guy talking about his or her needs and seeming more like real people.
Inside Out (2015)
Strong Points
This show is a great plot, first off. The characters and their situations are highly gifted. The art was the best.
The reason I give this show a 6 is because it seemed as tho there was not enough time for the strengths in the show to show off for longer periods of time. It seemed more like work. We were listening to statistics.
All in all, it means it was a good movie.
I would recommend this a "good family movie." It appeals to very young kids's sensibilities. It has moving meaning for adults. It's quirky for the teens.
As a work of animation, it certainly stands out!
