Uncut Gems (2019)
Insufferable people, insufferable movie
Everyone in this "movie" is despicable and lacks class.
I even have a hard time calling this a movie since all this is is constant yelling mixed with loud music.
Life (2017)
World stupidest scientists play with the most dangerous lifeform ever discovered
I don't know who's dumber, the writers of this movie or the "scientists" in it.
Those Nobel Prize wannabees will :
- Assess that this extraterrestrial life form evolves extremely fast and can replicate any kind of cell which probably includes those of nails, stingers, teeth or things that could pierce latex, yet they will still play with this alien with those flimsy gloves like some kids would do with modeling clay.
- Introduce piercing elements inside a chamber only protected with plastic gloves (so the piercing elements conveniently pierces them and contaminates the nearby chamber)
- Touch potentially infected corpses without even using gloves.
- spread contamination across the station then to Earth by using various dumb methods.
The rest of the movie consists of useless cliché filler scenes not even worth commenting.
I Spit on Your Grave (2010)
Watchable but not a great movie
I like the revenge/horror genre as much as anyone but this movie is totally forgettable. The acting and the writing are pretty bad. Every situation is foreseeable, over-exaggerated and nothing unexpected ever happens. The first part of the movie, is in my opinion the least mediocre one even though it's full of clichés, it is still watchable through and through and even somewhat entertaining with no real boring parts.
However the second part, the revenge one, isn't boring either but it is where all the inconsistencies, clichés and absurd situations really start to show off.
Just to list a few :
It was obvious the woman was going to jump in the river and try to disappear in the muddy waters, how they just didn't see it coming is beyond me.
Then she reappears somewhere between a month or a few years later (it is unclear when exactly) and starts knocking out her rapists with a baseball bat and a tire iron. This is the usual cliché you'd see in every 80's action movie : Hit a bad guy on the head to knock him out for a while... "He will -always- wake up later...".
Except that in really it does rarely work like that. Chance are, if you hit someone with a baseball bat to the head, he's never gonna wake up or if you miss your swing or don't hit it the right way (which is very likely if you're a woman vs 4 big guys) he's not even gonna get knocked out. The middle ground "knock-out effect" is extremely hard to obtain consistently especially with a baseball bat and a tire iron which are gonna brake bones and leave some serious injuries or just do very little damage if the guy you're targeting starts walking towards you with his hands in guard, reducing your momentum and swing distance. This was never though of in 80's movies and still isn't, worst part is that a girl has to wield these kinds of weapon makes it even less believable...
I would have believed it if she went for shooting tranquilizer darts while waiting from a safe distance, or if she'd laced their food with drugs... But this frail woman who KO's all those big guys ? Sorry, not buying it for a second.
To me, the most important part of a story like that is that it has to believable. But this one, despite being watchable, just isn't.
Busanhaeng (2016)
Boring overall
I think this movie is overrated and caricatural by many aspects. The acting seems forced all the way through and there's no originality to it. It's really just another zombie film to me and not a particularly entertaining one. Although I usually like Asian cinema better over American blockbusters because the plots tend to be very well written and the protagonists have a complex psychology. This is however not the case in this movie.
Mr. Robot: eps1.5_br4ve-trave1er.asf (2015)
Unrealistic behavior for so called masterminds
SPOILER !!!
Many scenes in this episode don't make sense at all. First, when they hold Eliot at gunpoint in a car parked in front of a police station : I wouldn't recommend that if you expect to live another day ! Same goes for the final jailbreak scene which makes even less sense : They take their sweet time after the break-out even after shooting the gun. Didn't the writers think that the nearby guards should have been alerted by all this commotion ?
Even Eliot that hangs around for a long time just outside of the prison for no apparent reason in the middle of the night, should have been more than suspicious for the guards swarming the perimeter after the evasion. But, no. Nothing happens !
Nobody can be this dumb and find this poor writing believable.

Supernatural (2005)
Enjoyable show but lazy writing
The show isn't bad. It's certainly entertaining and has a lot of humor in it. The actors are great as well. I didn't see many miscast in the whole show (except for the returning of Meg which was terrible)
So, what's the problem ?
The writing is very lazy, not only in a way that makes the show very predictable, but they also rip off other great shows like the X-Files by copying out either entire episodes or scenes. In the season 11 for instance, the telekinetic baby is a whole scene ripped off from William's episode of X-Files.
The worst thing about the show is clearly the plot. It is ALWAYS the same : One brother dies / gets tormented by a terrible curse / has to endure an ordeal. The other brother tries to save him at all costs and against the will of his brother, often by unleashing a worst evil leading to the next season. Note that there's often a "superweapon" involved that's needed to kill a "supervilain" which conveniently falls out of fashion next season even though it's "all powerful".
Some things also don't make any sense. At the beginning of the show, they were all trying to save people and got really afflicted with each innocent's death. For instance, they would always carefully exorcise demons to try to save it's host. But, after some point, they stopped doing that out of nowhere and started blasting demons with a ceremonial knife and thus killing it's host. Worst thing about this is they felt no remorse, and the writers didn't bother to explain the psychological event that lead to this drastic change of mindset.
