I'm going on a ranting spree because I'm worried for where Malayalam cinema is going to end at this state, if mediocrity like this, Aavesham, Bheeshma Parvam, etc are celebrated.
No I did not watch the movie because I was so bored halfway through that I walked out. I'm a big fan of movies that incorporate style as a big element (like, e.g. How Michael Mann has done with a couple of his classics).
But man, this was just boring. Mammootty was fine, but there was too little of him. Siddharth Bharathan was also fine as the scared/annoyed dude. But that'e where my compliments end. The protagonist was annoying and mega-boring. The whole black and white shtick did not work for me. The shoddy vintage Kerala house and lifestyle of those days looked even worse in monochrome. The pacing was the worst part of the movie (in addition to the boring whining protagonist).
Final verdict: too little of Mammootty, too much of the boring filler shots and boring protagonist.
