Throughout television history it has been common for actors to play fictional versions of themselves in sitcoms. I am chiefly talking about actors who play characters with the same first name in situation comedies television series. Probably the oldest example of this is the sitcom I Love Lucy starring Lucille Ball. This is a list of some of those sitcoms in no particular order.
I do not count series where an actor is only playing himself as a guest or a secondary character on the show. It must be a main character. Thus I do not count Big Bang Theory where Wil Wheaton is a secondary yet recurring character on the show as himself.
