The Morning Show: The Overview Effect (2023)
Brilliant storytelling
This telling episode tells the story visually and nonverbally through beautiful transitions and musical perfection. My heart was racing with the musical intonations. I truly felt the fears and anxieties throughout with so many twists and turns and intertwined storylines. Adore the chemistries in so many of the relationships on every level. The Morning Show captures the angst and fears of so many of the controversial topics everyone runs from. Proud to see the journalistic integrities shining through in very twisted and endearing ways. Seeing the mysteries unfold each episode trying to find Easter eggs. Anticipating the new and returning actors.
Babylon (2022)
Creative brilliance
Creative brilliance that brings your own stream of consciousness to the screen, 'reel' and internal thought process through a visual and acoustical representation of Hollywood. Contrasts of color and dull, brilliance is beautifully created in the old Hollywood scenes. The infallibility of character and the facade Hollywood creates brilliantly intertwined reality and unspoken reality...."well, he did have a drinking problem..." I'm in love with the subtly in dialogue. With the humor subtly immersed, every scene introduces a new unspoken smirk and abashedly (overdue and well-deserved) sexuality that's been missed.
The Bling Ring (2022)
Unreal
Is anyone else watching Alexis Neiers and wondering who she is trying to convince? Everything she does and says seems like a premeditated script to prove how good she looks...She seems to be attempting to convince the audience while NOT ONCE making full eye contact with the viewer. Then when you are introduced to her mother, it's sadly clear what influenced Alexis' desperate need for approval and from such a young and overtly sexualized age. Andrea Arlington comes off as a narcissistic, desperately egocentric woman which used these young girls for her own advancement.
Watching I am saddened to see the way of thinking younger generations are bringing to the table.
The Offer (2022)
Sincerest form of flattery....
I admire the use of imagery and scenes mirroring The Godfather in may respects throughout the series. Casting was a bit off on some characters....but Teller is believable and passioned but lacking some Ruddy....the connections between characters plays through on scene and makes for a compelling story telling that plays fluidly through the key players.... Puzo/Coppola, Cohen/the Mob, Paramount/Evans and Ruddy.
