The 100: Perverse Instantiation: Part Two (2016)
Go watch Person of Interest for a good show about Artificial Intelligence
I just finished binge-watching Person of Interest a few days ago and to see how well they fleshed out their world of technology and artificial super-intelligence (ASI) blew me away. It also forced me to open my eyes and see what a cheap knock-off this season of The 100 is of other such shows.
Nothing in the world of The 100 is fully explained. There's no time to delve deeper and sink your teeth into the material. The show jumps from place to place and is such a disappointment.
Person of Interest also has f/f representation that is handled so much better and is so much more poignant and that relationship is given the time it deserves to be explored. There's also no white- washing or blatant racism in that show unlike The 100 that is full of such issues.
But this finale went nowhere. Clarke, in pulling another lever, has a temporary victory against ALIE, but the world is still going to end.
This finale lacked the grand epic feeling of accomplishment. There was no substance and no intelligence to the material. I was not moved. My emotions were hardly engaged. I think the only thing to make me smile was seeing Lexa jump out of nowhere and get Clarke to safety and then the kill-switch.
The editing in the finale, however, was such a disappointment. Someone really dropped the ball behind the scenes because it was sloppy and rushed and lacked any poignancy.
The writing by Jason Rothenberg was worse than some of the pieces I've read in my past Intro to Creative Writing classes.
The science was all wrong. Ontari's chest/heart scene was sickening and not needed at all.
The only decent parts were Abby and Clarke in the beginning and then Octavia killing Pike and walking off, but even that was a really weird place to just...end in...
This show is not worth watching past the first two seasons.
The 100: Perverse Instantiation: Part One (2016)
Well, another episode, another letdown - when will it end?
This episode was so predictable it was laughable.
If Raven could supposedly get the kill code on her own, why did she not say that to Clarke before letting her go off on a suicide mission?
I knew last episode Jasper was chipped when he was sort of nice to Octavia. It was too out of character for him to not be a douchebaby to everyone.
Jasper stabbing Monty and then hovering outside the door was pretty dumb. This show makes zero sense. Why wasn't Raven able to radio Bellamy and warn them? It seemed like that happened just for plot's sake.
Roan died? I'm not sure if he was just shot or if he died, but whatever. Does it matter anymore?
Indra was one of my favorite characters, but her teaming up with Pike does not make me like Pike, it just makes me dislike Indra which is counterproductive and probably the opposite of what the show writers intended.
Bellamy for .02 seconds says the chipped grounders are not the enemy, I guess the message finally went through to him, but still, he sucks and he'll keep killing grounders because Bellamy is a two- bit thug.
Also, why did Bellamy need to shoot Roan to prove he wasn't chipped? That did literally nothing...
Why was Roan so chill about listening to Clarke - any other rational human would have been like, dafuq, do you hear what you're saying, and they would have refused to help. Honestly. The writing is just to force characters to do what's necessary for plot and then those characters are disposed of.
When will Octavia get justice for Lincoln? Never? Okay, got it.
Clarke was willing to let her mother die? Willing to watch? Nice. Cool. Makes me really love this world.
The 100 universe is literally the worst. What's the point of saving the world if you have to sacrifice what you live for, the people worth surviving for?
One more episode and I'm out.
The 100: Red Sky at Morning (2016)
The 100 almost got better and then didn't
I don't know what to say about the latest episode.
Raven almost got ALIE, but failed at the last second.
Luna almost became Commander, but pretty much said nope again and kicked the Sky kids off her rig.
Pike, Murphy, and Indra almost destroyed the backpack, but dawdled too much and wasted their chance.
Everything this episode/season is almost...
Monty killed his mother for a second time, kind of for no reason, by deleting her code. Poor kid. At least he got laid, even if that scene made zero sense and Harper and him had no memorable interaction before this episode, unless I'm forgetting something?
Luna...was the best character I've seen since Lexa and Lincoln died, but she turned out to be a little pointless since she added nothing to the overall arc of the story. I just got my heart torn out for her after she broke down when she had to kill that guy, and then she just...left...like what was the point of making me like her for an episode if she wasn't going to contribute?
I guess you could say Luna was almost important.
The 100: Demons (2016)
What Kinda Cheap Horror Movie Crap Was This Episode?
I should have had popcorn this episode, lmao.
This had to be the worst of the season yet and that's saying a lot since this entire season has been terrible.
I see a few reviews floating around calling this episode amazing, but it's just a couple people who ship Bellamy and Clarke, which is an infantile reason to overlook the glaring issues with this show.
Just plot-wise, I'm lost. The chip burrowing into Emerson's head made no sense to me whatsoever. What kind of freak tech is that?
Sad to see Sinclair go. The 100 and death is still going strong as ever.
Bellamy's redemption does not resonate with me because when you kill hundreds of people without a good, honorable reason...yeah, not gonna fly. He's just another Finn, except there's no justice with his storyline.
And can Clarke stop suffering already, what's with gross men constantly choking the poor girl?
RIP Lincoln. Still mad he's dead. Even madder Bellamy put his gross hands on that hero's body. Poor Octavia.
ALIE...Ontari...ugh. The whole Murphy/Emori/Ontari thing is blegh.
This show is rapidly devolving at such a consistent rate, it's amazing.
The 100: Nevermore (2016)
Nevermore this show
I gotta be honest, I was excited for this episode because the group was together again, but everything is just empty in this show.
I can't stand any scene with Bellamy after what he did. Sick of Jasper taking his emotions out of everyone, like come on, everyone in the show is suffering.
Clarke needs to defend herself. Come on, one girl getting so much blame, it's painful to watch.
I really like Niylah, but I don't think we'll see her again which is a real shame.
Raven's acting was amazing. So was Clarke's. Those two are really carrying this show right now.
I wasn't into all the self-torture on Raven's part though, it went too far for me.
Monty killing his own mom...mm...I feel like it was written in for high drama, but it fell flat for me. I'm glad Hannah is dead though.
My interest in this show is kind of dimming with each new episode. I'm waiting for some kind of justice for the grounders, but I'm starting to think the writers aren't going to fulfill that for me.
I'll try to get through season 3 though, I'm already over halfway through.
The 100: Fallen (2016)
Don't Bother
I give up. Not worth my time anymore. Bellamy can walk off a cliff. Octavia and Indra should just be in their own spin off.
Raven still needs protection 2K16. Clarke is barely in this show anymore. Are they killing her off next? Did the actress make Jason mad too? Peace, Ricky Whittle.
I miss season 2 where most things made sense. Ontari is gross. Polis plot is garbage now. Does this season even have a point? Other than a handful of delinquent kids saving the world again? Because this has been painful to get through.
I'm still mad Lincoln got killed off just because the showrunner is a big baby and wanted to get back at the actor for being cooler than him.
