Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
GARBAGE
I can't believe i risked getting infected by going to the movies to watch this garbage movie. Two hours of my life i'll never get back.
No character development whatsoever. The plot didn't make sense. Why were the bad guys bad??! I mean really what was their drive? I've never seen villains written so poorly before. The choreography for the battle scenes and the dialogue was so cheesy. In general it was boring and as much as I love Hans Zimmer, his score was unnecessary and I would've preferred music from the eighties. I HATED EVERYTHING IT ALL MADE ME CRINGE.
My brothers said that the only good thing about this movie was Gal Gadot's attractiveness, but as a woman, watching her combat her enemies in a mini skirt and heels while showing no sign of body fat or cellulite, was nothing more than a blow on my self esteem.
CONCLUSION: I got absolutely nothing out of this experience.
The Undoing: The Bloody Truth (2020)
So you wanted a plot twist?
It seems like a lot of people are mad because they expected the unexpected, without realizing that having the most obvious ending is in itself unexpected! Don't you get? Plot twists are already so common in crime stories that if there where to be one, it would've been predictable. So you thought Grace was going to be the killer? You're not the only one! I was so sure of it that I was actually surprised when we got the logical ending. That is what makes The Undoing so special, it's something we don't see very often.
Either way, you can't blame the TV series for respecting a pre existing plot. If you wan't to talk about the show specifically, it was perfectly crafted. It had good cinematography, great production design and the most amazing editing i've seen in a while. The acting was great, everyone offered their best performance but especially Hugh Grant. His acting was so great that you actually believed him! He was the most accurate portrayal of a psychopath i've ever seen, he made us actually root for his freedom and bet on his innocence. And here you all are getting mad at an ending which was meant to happen, without realizing that maybe it was the point all along.
Little Women (2019)
This might be my favorite movie of all time
And I don't say this often (if ever). It seemed to offer answers towards everything I feel as a twenty one year old woman. It hit me on a personal level like no other movie has ever done.
Ronan's portrayal of Jo March makes us relate to the character the way one could only ever relate to characters in books where you can use much of your imagination. We can easily understand why she might be the best actress of our generation.
There was a lot of crying, but in the good way that leaves you feeling whole towards the end. This movie is an incredible adaption of the book that represents all the struggles us women stand for.
Midsommar (2019)
An artsy horror film
I don't usually write reviews but this movie made me feel weird and uncomfortable in all the right ways. It's slow pace makes it almost unbearable to watch (not in a bad way, but in that great "i can't take it anymore" way that horror movies often fail to do). The plot is unlike anything i've seen before, it is original and unpredictable. The main character is complex and undergoes an amazing development.
However, I do believe that it is not a movie for everyone. Not because of the gruesome graphic violence, but because unlike other horror movies, it's understanding goes beyond it's scripts, effects and music score. I even dare to say that it seems pretentious at times.
That being said, both cinematography and visuals are amazing. The art direction generates a contrast between horror and beauty making us realize that they can coexist in the same scenery. The acting is great, especially Florence Pugh's performance.
I highly recommend it. One of the best films i've seen this year.
