Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
(By Far) The Best Super Hero Film of the decade so far
This is one of those films that only appears once in a while, but when it does it makes a impact so big that all future generations feel it. A technical marvel, combine a killer soundtrack and the best looking animation of all time, combine that with a story that perfects most super hero stories in the big screen and you got one of the Best films ever made. A Must Watch for everyone in every age
The Nostalgia Critic (2007)
A Fun escapism
The jokes doesn't always hit bullseye and can get annoying after a while, but more often than not he does funny jokes. The variety is decent, it has short reviews (who usually have 10-20 minutes), long reviews (30-40), top 11 and editorials.
The long reviews are the best because it's when Doug is trying the most, with actors, props and even a story going on while the review is happening. But again, sometimes it doesn't work, so I will but down below the best (for you to laugh until you cry) and the worst (for you to cringe like if you're watching the Emoji Movie)
Worst:
05- Follow that bird (a noble attempt to give one of the characters more screen time but I never found that character to be funny enough to hold a video on his own, so I would recommend skipping 5/10)
04- Sonic OVA (Too short and most jokes are easy 5/10)
03- Star Wars The Last Jedi (Decent Jokes but the some of the critics made in that review are not fair 4/10)
02- Deadpool 2 (Meh at best jokes and the ongoing battle between Deadpool and Rick is not funny at all 4/10
01- Hoccus Poccus (Bad jokes, not enough reviewing of the movie and a message better executed in the Moulin Rouge review 3/10)
Best:
05- Captain Planet (Worth it just to the portion when he talks about when Captain Planet talked about aids 8/10)
04- Freddie got fingered (Fun homage + good jokes = Fun Time 8/10)
03- Nutcracker 3D (Some of the jokes are great and the ending is really heartwarming 9/10)
02- The Last Airbender (Hilarious jokes and a ending that it's a must watch for those who say "That movie ruined the franchise!" 9/10)
01- Moulin Rouge (The best jokes, memorable songs and a great message about liking something even if is bad 10/10)
Ôkami kodomo no Ame to Yuki (2012)
One of the best modern Just animated movies
Wolf Children is a dumb name. When you stop to think about how is it without knowing anything about the project, probably you think in something like Alvin and the Chipmunks (2009) with wolfs instead, but don't worry! It's not lame, forced, manipulative, or cash grabbing like the Chipmunks movie. In fact, you can pretty much reverse everything I just said! It's well made, emotional and feels much more like a movie make for the art rather than the money. The writing is wonderful, with a simple but good premise! And the voices used to make those characters make most of them all the more real, combined with the animation and soundtrack and this feels like a documentary about a mom raising Children who can turn into wolfs rather than an animated feature. BUT I said almost for a reason, and that is that sometimes the mom can be to much happy to the point of annoying some people (at least that what happened to me). But again, it sometimes, not all or the majority. And when it happens it doesn't ruins the film, it just weakness it a little bit, and that's why I can't give it a 10/10. Still you should definitely check it out if you are a animation fan (specially Japanese)
Hagane no renkinjutsushi: Mirosu no seinaru hoshi (2011)
The best and at the same time worst that Fullmetal Alchemist has ever got
How can someone describe Sacred Star of Milos? It's like if Fullmetal tried to be Bleach while still being Fullmetal.
Confusing? So is the movie! Plot holes and lack of continuity when compared to the Brotherhood series are the biggest problem of the movie and it can very distracting making this the Fullmetal Alchemist anime version with the worst history.
But at the same time it still has the characters that we know and love and even the new ones are surprisingly good and interesting.
But by far the best part of the movie is the animation! Holy Cow it is good!!! The design, the way the characters move, the angles and GOOD LORD the colors!!! If the story is the worst in Fullmetal's history than the animation is the BEST in Fullmetal's history.
If you are a fan, give it a try.
It's not as dark and thoughtful as the classic series or as heartwarming as the Brotherhood series but is still pretty good
Mob Psycho 100 (2016)
The greatest anime since Fullmetal Alchemist
One is one of the best writers of our time! He gave us not one, but two action packed and hilarious comedies with a lot of heart and emotion. But between this and OPM, I would definitely prefer this! A great history with some of the best characters the anime industry has to offer (Specially Shigero Kageyama or Mob) and all packed into a anime with THE BEST 2D ANIMATION OF ALL TIME (And that includes movies like The Lion King and Prince of Egypt) and a great soundtrack and we have a anime giant! A must watch if you like action and/or comedic shows!
Hagane no renkinjutsushi (2009)
One of the best steampunk shows, but not THE best
If 2003's Fullmetal Alchemist is all about balancing out the sad and disturbing elements with goofy and funny moments, than 2009's Brotherhood is all about comedic and action packed fun. Not as deep, complex or interesting as the 2003 animated classic. But as comedic and action packed fun go, this is one of the best examples of it. The characters are all likable, the story keep you rooked, the animation is just unbelievable! (How sad is the fact that a anime almost 10 years old looks better than Boruto, who is still running to this day!) And the soundtrack is just pitch perfect. I definitely recommend this one if you wanna have a good time!
Hagane no renkinjutsushi: Hagane no renkinjutsushi (2009)
Decent beginning
A perfectly decent episode. It got great action, good humor and introduces most of the characters in a good way, but what makes this episode not be that great it's the fact that is made whit assuming that you watched the original series. So we got a overload of informations for newcomers, and that makes things a little confusing, but it still got all the good characters that made this series popular, so it's a good enough beginning
Hagane no renkinjutsushi (2003)
One of the best examples of balance
In 2003 a anime giant was born in the form of Fullmetal Alchemist. The first and one of the very few shows in general (not only Japanese or animated) to be well balanced. It got great action, but it also got great dialogues! It got great humor but it also got great drama! It got a great timeless soundtrack but once it also got great pop songs in the openings and endings!
It got it's flaws (particular with the ending). But even then it's balanced up! It's very hard to find a story THIS balanced in any media, and when I find a show like this, it just make my day better. I definitely recommend it.
