Ahare Mon (2018)
9/10
Simply brilliant
26 June 2018
"There comes a time in your life when you have to choose to turn the page, write another book or simply close it." - Ahare Mon is exactly that. I was hugely impressed by Pratim D. Gupta in Maacher Jhol and he continues to delight. Ahare Mon has multiple moments of happiness with interconnected stories of love and affection. It was a journey down memory lane for me with the timescape presented intelligently by Pratim. The old airport, the printed Air India tickets, that old immigration counters at the basement of the old airport.. and the Inland Letters. How did you know about this Pratim? I am sure you are much younger to me and ideally live in this world of Facebook and Whatsapp. But trust me, you did wonderfully in bringing back that romanticism of writing letters. It is pure nostalgia for me. In terms of acting, everyone did there part so elegantly. It was great to see Anjan Dutt back with Mamata Shankar after a long time. I am a big fan of Adil Hussain. In Ahare Mon, once again his acting with that infectious smile is top notch. Chitrangada Banerjee if I am right about the spelling is simply brilliant. I am sure this young lady has a bright career ahead of her. Overall, I loved the film and I wish everyone must go and see it in theatre.
