Deadloch (2023– )
10/10
Funny!

I really love this show. Kate Box is a joy to watch as the long suffering detective who's trying to do her job while going up against the obnoxious detective played by Madeleine Sami)who just wants to charge someone and get out of Deadloch. The dialogue is quick, the characters are interesting and "quirky" (I really didn't want to use that word). Nina Aiyana is also wonderful. Of course, I enjoy most series from Australia and New Zealand and now Tasmania. I have to refer to Urban Dictionary occasionally for certain words (nangs, for instance). It's refreshing to see actors I haven't seen before.

Perry Mason (2020–2023)
10/10
Saddest eyes and meanest snarl since Bogey.

I know this Perry Mason is not the same one we all know and love from 50's television, but it's sooo good. Every character has a backstory, and I believe that every character's story deserves to be told. When a writer hasn't built a complete background on their character, then...it's up for grabs, right? Kudos all around to everyone involved with the series. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The acting is outstanding. I've already complimented Rhys, and I wish I could list all the majors here but I'm not. I will say that Chris Chalk's casting as Paul Drake is brilliant!

Never disappoints

Warning: Spoilers
As I continue watching Good Girls I am more and more impressed. Like reading a perfectly crafted suspense novel with a twist at every turn, I'm amazed when I'm wrong. I was devastated when Beth killed Rio, even though I suspected it wasn't so. Plaudits to writers, directors, and cast members!

The Letdown (2017–2019)
10/10
Sweet and funny.

I love this show so much!! I'm American and put on the subtitles so I wouldn't miss anything as the accents and slang are different. But the problems of new parents are pretty much the same as thirty years ago when I had my own babies. The writing is clever and acting exceptional. Thank you!

I cried a little.

Warning: Spoilers
It is a sweet movie with three beautiful and talented actresses. Not every film has to be Academy Award material to be enjoyable. I like happy endings; if that makes me a Pollyanna, so what? I'm always appreciative of good dialogue and I do think the movie scored on that aspect.

Alex, Inc. (2018)

Give it a chance

Every sitcom takes a few episodes to get its audience. I realize I'm a 61 year old woman and no one cares what they think, but.... I love it. Zach Braff is appealing as ever, as is the rest of the cast: Tiya Sircar, Michael Imperioli, Hillary Anne Matthews, ... Sorry kids you're great, I'm just tired of looking up names. I only came on here to find out what city it takes place in (still don't know) and was appalled at the unfavorable reviews. I hated That 70's Show when I watched the first episode, even though it was totally my era, and I never watched it until 2010 in syndication. It's brilliant. I don't know that Alex, Inc. will be brilliant, but how the freakin' hell did Full House and One Day at a Time make it past one season?!
