The Most Believable Bond ever!!!
18 November 2006
This James Bond bleeds, puffs and he does have an emotional side. This is closest James Bond character I have seen to a real human being.

Not only is Daniel Craigs character the well acted calculating cool killer but also he retains the traditional James Bond arrogance.

On top of all this the film is actually very good. The finest film of the year if not the best James Bond I have ever seen. Only Sean Connery's character for me comes close. Incredible opening sequence.

This has the spirit of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale in the 21st Century. Craig is cool, funny and physical, Eva Green is stunning(for me the most stunning Bond girl for ages), Le Chiffre is an awesome bad guy. I almost want to be him more that James Bond sometimes in that film.

This is the best cinema experience I have had for a long time. James Bond is now once again a plausible franchise.

For the first time in my life a James Bond film has opened up a childhood lust to be a secret agent. I want to be a 00 as cool as Daniel Craigs James Bond.

Now I am going home for a Martini and a game of polka!!!

Not as bad as it sounds!
26 May 2006
I thought this would be a lot worse. It looks rubbish well so I thought. I had seen the other two movies but not for a while. I new it would be a typical formula of blasting special effects around a loose story line. (How could it be otherwise) But I enjoyed it. It doesn't weigh up to the Spiderman movies.

I love seeing two heavyweight British actors in Ian Mckellen and Patrick Stewart together.

This film is great to look at and lots of fun. Typical of the Hollywood sequel formula but full of humour and makes for a great night out to the cinema. I do look forward to seeing some more serious cinema before the end of the year however.

Go and see this its just about worth it. Take the family. Yay!!!!

A very true story.
24 October 2005
This is in fact a true story. It was a raid that was authorised by

Mountbatten in 1942. The names of the characters are changed. There was such a raid called operation Frankton that was executed in winter months. The movie is no doubt an exaggeration in many parts but certainly creates a lot of suspense. Of all the performances the only strong one is that of Trevor Howard who delivers his character extremely well on screen. His relationship with his commanding officer is in many ways the centre piece of the film. I can understand why people unaware of the raid would find this film implausible. But I can assure this was a real episode brought to the big screen. The raiders in real life did endure extreme hardship.
