The Twilight Zone (2019–2020)

Warning: Spoilers
I had a different interpretation than most of these reviews. The aliens had set up this simulation long before the astronauts went into space and the nukes wiped out the human race. The aliens probably saw the trajectory the human race was on: they would eventually kill each other before working together to leave earth, explore space and get past the "great filter". I believe the aliens abducted this random sample of humans and put them in a simlulation that made them believe they were astronauts and the last surviving people. Then, the aliens waited to see if the humans would turn on each other or actually work together to make it to mars. This is why most of the astronauts seem unintelligent and highly emotional. The aliens missed the crystals in the toilet detail in their simulation, something they corrected after Jerry pointed it out. The Jerry character was an outlier the aliens didn't expect. Jerry surprised them and gave the humans even more points. I liked this episode, it was very thought-provoking if nothing else.
