YES! It is, empirically, that good
5 December 2022
If you really want to know why, watch the extras. It IS that good! I do not work for anyone who will profit from the previous statement.

Seriously though, the filming and what the actors did just to be able to not pass out during a VERY intense shoot, is flat-out amazing. I'm no pro at this, but I do have to say something sometimes. What Tom Cruise did here was push a large group of people to do something none of them dreamt of. And they dream for a living...then put dreams on moving pictures and WE love it. And every god and God said it was good and that they all LOVE movies too! Minimum character limit met!

A futuristic conversion story for the poor, persecuted Christian. Oh how they have been treated soooo poorly by society. What a joke. Pew rides just can't seem to help themselves.

GREAT show

Love Titus Welliver in this role. I wish his ex-wife could have stuck around, but they don't shy away from the heaviest of heavy stuff. It's probably a little out of the realm of reality that he gets caught up in all these massive stakes situations, but hey...his demeanor is perfect for it. Never overacting.

HUGE blunder
18 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Of course I know it'll end up fine but...the thought that Nick would leave Truble by herself in that hospital for ANY amount of time is beyond absurd. She's been missing for all this time and shows up like this and you just leave her there overnight unattended?! Unfathomably ridiculous. On top of that you told them she was an undercover police officer which would give you all you need to put Wu or Hank outside her door indefinitely. Even the captain would be fine with it if he was necessary to notify. Wu could even take a couple of days off to do so. The ignorance that the main character has written into his role is, at times, astounding. I like the overall show of course but this was one of those "who didn't see that coming" moments and there's been a few. At other times Nick seems to come to conclusions, correctly, without the information one would actually need to get there. I'd say this is a writers issue. But what do I know... I'm just some guy.

Cpl hrs of fun
6 May 2022
I don't know what others expected but this was a couple hours of fun and compared to several other 4-5 imdb rated movies I've seen lately, this is much better. First of all, I like a full 2 hours. More backstory etc. Second, I like the idea that a discovery can be made at any time that changes everything. I'm not mega-structurist, but this was alright. I've always liked grand ideas.

Common sense...anyone?
5 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There's several sorta big names here in this movie and it's almost like they shot it on a weekend. Maybe the actors were doing a favor for some buddies they know who have stock in redbox? When the lead is hunting down the super villain, who is such a badass that was obviously captured of his own accord just so he could be brought here, a place that he probably knows the layout of already, as she's hunting him by herself near the conclusion she never once checks her six. That's behind her in case you don't know. The absurdity in this is stunning. She is not a field agent and even if she could function in this sort of situation she would be head on a swivel but instead it's nose in the same direction straight ahead all the time even though there are passageways and doors all over the place behind her. This is just where I lost patience and had to come leave a review. I don't recall the other disappointing aspects but just a little dash of common sense or maybe it was just low budget and they didn't take the time to.... I don't know....think? Could have been an interesting hour and a half and instead, as another reviewer said, I'm not angry but there is definitely disappointment. But there's always this... It could have been worse.

Much better than 5.8
27 April 2022
Perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about but I took from this that the lesson is that no matter how much we figure out scientifically, that which we THINK we know may forever be dwarfed by the unknown. If you experienced this sort of thing while traveling the galaxy, and really wanted to understand what, why, how or who etc, the number of questions would grow exponentially while the odds of learning much from this single occurrence would remain close to nil. This is the state of things at the leading edge of all true scientific thinking, and perhaps always will be. Therefore, ironically, the more we know, the more we realize we don't know! My mind is euphoric at the notion of indefinite, perpetual seeking such as this. But I can also imagine someone saying, "what's the point in learning anything if we know we'll never learn it all". I'm certainly glad we don't all think like that.. Ah, the paradoxes of the human condition...

Why is the Grimm written so dumb?
31 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Detective burkhardt instantly begins to judge and blame his mother because she left him with his aunt. He fails to recognize the disaster that he has been flirting with and now has actually happened with the woman he was told he better move on from if he actually cared about her. She will wake up and not remember him if I recall correctly from watching this show back when it was new. It was always frustrating that the main character was written to be so slow in figuring things out. You don't get to judge others for keeping big secrets detective burkhart. Your mother did that to protect you. You can't protect the woman you live with that you were told to disengage from imagine if you actually had a kid with her. What would you do to protect them then? Just keep living this gigantic lie? Oh that's working out wonderfully. But the show is good nonetheless and I like this kind of stuff. I suppose the writers have to do these sorts of things to drag it out. The greatest shows don't concern themselves with that though...

I must not get it since I was born in 80 or something. I don't understand how this movie is a seven. It's one of the worst things I've ever seen. Truly disappointed. Maybe I missed the point or something.

Willis' Theatre & Film school
23 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
WTFs!

Lot of those going around with folks watchin' ol' Bruce lately.

It's as if Bruce has begun an elementary school and is letting the children write and direct while he agrees to "star". On the other hand and even if that were true, I mean, this movie could actually be more realistic than the "good ones" with all of the non-sequiturs and absurd gun play, it's more likely that this is what a real life scenario would look like. REALLY stupid people saying & doing REALLY stupid things. These kids get it!

Just after the car crash at 1hr 15min, there is a pretty funny few minutes with an Australian guy who dies shortly thereafter. It really is quite funny and is BY FAR the most memorable part of the movie. And I rewound to watch the part I missed when I fell asleep, to be sure.

But seriously, if you don't like wasting time, don't watch this...unless a nap is in order.

BIG character mistake near beginning?
5 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
For someone who is a genius computer hacker who knows how the filth of human trafficking operate and what they will do to people whom they don't even consider much more highly than a rat, the set-up for the frame job could be seen from a mile away. I mean as soon as she laid that gun down after bare-handedly finding it and threatening the lawyer, if you didn't see where that was going, you must not be paying much attention. I almost stopped watching because it makes ZERO sense for her character to do something so absurd.

I saw the Dragon Tattoo movie first so she's supposed to be a thinker. I understand these people wanting to pin it on someone like her, because they are scum, and I HATE victim blaming, but she asked to be framed. Threaten a connected, disgusting human of a lawyer with his own gun, in his own house, and then leave it there with your prints on it?!?! I'm sorry, but you're asking for it. Astonishingly stupid. Who breaks in without gloves!?!? Even a sock of his placed on the hand would have made this predicament easily avoidable. Also, take the gun and throw it in a river!

Warning: Spoilers
Right about the time where the Bad Lieutenant says, "shoot him again! His soul was still dancing!" I said to myself, what am I watching here?! Not in a bad way. This movie is straight up nuts. Val kilmer and Stifler's mom and Mundt down in evidence played by Michael shannon. It's got a great cast. Also Xzibit... Val kilmer doesn't have much of a role but Eva Mendez does. I like this. I can also relate to the addict aspect.

Warning: Spoilers
If you're not a fan of the franchise, what are you doing here? If you are, you ought to know they are just gonna get more ridiculous trying to one-up themselves. Magnets don't work like that and they abused the hell out of average people ignorance of that. NOT that I'm some guru or even novice level magnetist. That's right, not even a word, but what's a magnet guru called? I just know you ain't using magnets to thro cars or suck them through buildings. Or to stop a 50-75 tom vehicle with 2 cars! There would have been 100s killed IRL. Like I said...absurd! Rocketing into space...absurd! Still fun and the "Minions" reference was hilarious. I watched the Director's Cut. People putting 3s...why are you here? Why would you even watch? This movie was par for the F&F course. What did you expect!?!? I'll see the next one too! Not the best, miss The Rock...

One MAJOR oversite
20 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So this global pharmaceutical company has set all of this up and the secure server that only the highest at the company have access to is accessible using the biometrics of a guy who has NO SECURITY!!! This is the mother of all oversights if you're doing what this company is allegedly doing. Even though Torchwood gets the biometrics in a very gentle way, the guy in the dark parking garage that this walking key is in, does not. But even Torchwood's methods would have been sniffed out had there been even a mediocre security detail watching Mr. Nicholas Frumpkin, as there most certainly would be in this scenario. I know, the building has security, but that doesn't explain leaving the key under the mat...

Who's Responsible?!
13 July 2021
The boss wants to know "who's responsible for stabbing Zelenka!" Are you serious? Atlantis doesn't have cameras everywhere!? The Dr isn't just acting a "little" weird. After the things they've seen, the fact that she is WAY off should be obvious to the crew. REALLY unbelievable. Bad start, but the premise of the episode was OK I suppose.

Let everything happen to you Beauty and terror Just keep going No feeling is final.

-Rainer Maria Milke

Taika Waititi is a gem. Director, actor, writer. You can see that he cares so very deeply and yet finds levity in everything. "What we do in the shadows". "Thor Ragnarok". The first is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen and the latter is also fantastic. What an inspiring movie this was. It is also depressing that people actually believed the things we laughed at in JoJo's book. At times it's so very obvious that we are a half a chromosome from a chimpanzee... And yet that can make all the difference in the end.

Great series. Great characters.
27 June 2021
I've enjoyed this from the get-go. Titus Welliver, whom I never really knew of prior to this, nails this performance. I believe this was the final season I just finished binging and it's fitting that it would end with my favorite Creedence Clearwater Revival, of their many many wonderful songs. Put a candle in the window woo woo woo...

QUESTION EVERYTHING... including yourself!
23 May 2021
It's absolutely disgusting what humans will do in the name of conformity. See WWII if you disagree and see the Milgram experiments at Yale University for a look into exactly how badly humans are at questioning authority. To blame a teacher who is involved in your son's life for less than a school semester for his suicide shows a level of denial of reality that astounds me to a point beyond belief. You had this child for at least 16 years or so and over the course of a few months a teacher made him suicidal!? The lack of personal responsibility shown by these parents is despicable. So many people are like that. I'll never forget when I had the epiphany that my parents, and every single other adult, regardless of age, were just other humans... Question everything and everyone. Be careful of certainty and conformity. Conformity is not all bad and it is perhaps required, but it should never go unquestioned.

Zach galifianakis is gold...
15 May 2021
I've never seen anything with Zach galifianakis and not liked it. This guy is comedy perfection in my opinion. We actually come from the same part of North Carolina which I didn't know until very recently. He was in Out Cold, which is the only reason to watch the movie. The car spinning scene is one of the best scenes of any movie that I've ever watched. It's one of those scenes you can't forget. He does awkward like no one I've ever seen. Between Two Ferns is magical. Thanks for keepin it weird Zach. See Baskets also if you haven't ever heard of the show or seen... it watch it.

From fairly good to hilarious to...ok
21 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first 30 minutes were not bad at all. The guy playing Chapel was over acting, Maxine was good, Seagal was Seagal, and the blue eyed Eastwood wannabe was ok. BUT, whomever decided to put "poophole" in the dialogue should win an award. I haven't laughed that hard lately. Assassin comes at Seagal in the bathroom and calls him a "poophole" just before the inevitable Seagal gun removal maneuver. It was so out of nowhere I had to rewind and watch it thrice. You gotta be in a goofy mood and not looking to think much, but there's always a place for some B movies. There wouldn't be A's without B's! OK, maybe that's not true, but this movie was OK. Pretty good storyline and trickery going on.

No one wants to think...
4 April 2021
I don't know what everyone's problem is. This was just a snapshot of an incredible make believe persons life from the 80s. Could it have been better? I suppose. But I like a movie that makes me think and I find that so many people prefer not to, And that is a problem with people, not this movie. Think about this if you will... Is what you want, REALLY what you want?
