Cobra Kai: Downward Spiral (2022)
A really stupid but highly entertaining episode
After every season break I forget how naive and shortsighted most of these characters are.
And this episode isn't doing anyone a favor intelectualwise. But it's the charm and wit of the characters that keeps this momentum going.
I just wish the protagonists would surprise me with really clever and sharp writing a few more times.
I think I facepalmed 3 times during 10 minutes, geez.
Plus I just realized that every season I have another favorite character. Now it's Robby because he's trying to smoothen the many boiling situations instead of being victim of his own ego.
Other than that Johnny is still the best and Daniel is still insufferable.
Madonna Feat. Massive Attack: I Want You (1995)
A hidden gem - a wonderful collab
A 90's Madonna within a noire bond-esque vibe - that's exactly enough to fill a man's void of lustful dreams for 6 and a half minutes.
Death Note (2017)
Guilty Pleasure Film
When I watched it the first time I was massively irritated and disappointed. BUT please separate it from the anime/manga and just see it as it is. I had a really good time while watching without expectations.
It's so messy, weird and FUNNY as hell.
I watch like now and then every year.
Love it. Alcohol may boost the effect!
Fumetsu no Anata e: A Minor Evolution (2021)
3 episodes in and my fascination is still on top. More!
This is still pretty nice and easy watching, no big convoluted story building. The beautiful world building, the sweet emotions and the little evolutions here and there make it so fascinating to watch.
X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)
Came for X-Men action and lore/ left with Psylocke crush
Not gonna lie.
Psylocke was my absolute favorite part in this film.
She looked amazing with her abilities.
Dark: Der Ursprung (2020)
The first big answer
Finally we come closer to the end, the edge of creation and it's downfall.
And it was especially in this episode, where I was thinking that it becomes a pattern, in which every older person (Adam, Eva) with more wisdom and knowledge is keeping this knowledge and motivs secret.
In any other show this would be frustrating, but this show with its amazing pace spits the big answer right in your face.
So as a tip: Take a breather after this episode, maybe think about some theories and continue.
As I am doing it right now. :)
Lost in Translation (2003)

Feeling of a stranger in a strange country and the longing for familiarity/ solidarity in picture and sound.

The alternative formula of storytelling tuned with fetish dialoguebombs makes this movie a masterwork of popculture.
