The Acolyte: Destiny (2024)
Season 1, Episode 3
3/10
Wasted budget for what could have been a great episode
12 June 2024
It worries me ( as a filmmaker myself) that £180 million can be wasted on such dull and interesting writing. I am a StarWars fan. However, I would like to make it clear I don't hate on shows just because it's not what I call "StarWars" I have always been open to new stories, new takes on characters and new visuals too. But Episode 3 was just a complete let down. The direction for this episode was atrocious, a huge let down for the director unfortunately. I love good dialogue and good story. But this episode was dull and flat. The story took so long to tell,.when really we were left with more questions than answers. Which if I know one thing from being a scriptwriter myself, you need to leave the audience wanting to know more. You can keep making things more complicated without leaving trials of interest to keep the watcher keep watching. Overall, not great. However, the child actress who played Mae and Osha was phenomenal!

Fantastic New Film By Tom Stuart!
23 December 2023
A brilliant short film that i was able to watch at the premier a few months ago. Now shortlisted for The Oscars! Outstanding performances from the main two characters, and a great supporting cast too! Massive congratulations to the cast and crew, what a story! I urge everyone to go and see this as soon as you can! A compelling story and well written script by Tom Stuart, who's direction and vision for this can be seen throughout, along with the spectacles and visuals, that is Somerset! Overall, very excited to see future creations from Tom Stuart, and hopefully a win at The Oscars! Congratulations once again.

Oppenheimer (I) (2023)

This is not just a film...it's a Human Experience. A MASTERPIECE!
24 July 2023
This film exceeded my expectations. I have never felt so alive, attentive and engaged in a film for three hours in so long. I have to give it ti Mr Nolan, he has created yet again, another masterpiece of a film. I also should point out the music. As much as I thin Hans Zimmer is one of the greatest composers, Ludwig Göransson couldn't have done a better job than he did on Oppenheimer. The score mad meme feel ways I have never felt before, and the build up to the trinity test was an experience I wish I could endure again for the first time. Everyone should see this film, it is what cinema and storytelling is all about, and this (as a filmmaker myself) has boosted me to be more imaginative.

Elvis (2022)

A phenomenal performance and Thrilling Film!
27 June 2022
I was never a huge fan of Elvis and only knew a few of his songs. However, after exiting the cinema, i have to say i absolutely loved it. Austin Butler's performance is phenomenal and Exciting. He captured Elvis's mannerisms and persona in such a unique way, that gave both tribute to Elvis and also a spotlight on Butler performance. Baz's auteur style matches the films pace and feeling and also gives a twist on visuals. Overall i have to say this is a must see. The music is brilliant, the styler is unique and the performances are exceptional including Tom Hanks.

JAMES GUNN AT HIS BEST!!!
31 July 2021
When i first heard abut this movie, and heard character names such as, "Polka Dot Man" and "TDK" i thought that this would be a flop. Knowing how Warner Bros have interfered with previous directors visions and story telling, to try and copy marvel, i had serious doubts about this film. The trailers did interest me, hence why i wanted to book tickets to see it. Well...this film does not disappoint.

I enjoyed this film from beginning to end. A fantastic mixture of both. Humour, Violence and Emotion. James Gunn has written a heartfelt and epic story, including some of the weirdest and most peculiar characters from the DC Comics. Each one has their own story arc, their best moments, and are just damn right awesome! Again, Jame Gunn uses such a wide range of music choice to suit each scene, each one working perfectly. The cinematography is most of the scenes were visually stunning to watch on the big screen, and the costume designs were fantastic! Astounding visual and practical effects used throughout the film made you feel part of the story.

In conclusion, James Gunn has managed to use the most bland and uninteresting comic characters, and create a masterpiece. A film that lives up to its R rating and hype. Would highly recommend seeing this.
