I wanted so desperately to like it, but I couldn't

I was so disappointed in this series. I'm a huge fan of Ms Philippa Gregory's novels, and of the Plantagenet/Tudor era. The White Queen, series and novel, I absolutely loved. Historically inaccurate, as being historical fiction, but a very entertaining read and viewing. I just finished watching the Tudors when I stumbled across the White Queen and I was excited to watch the era before the Tudor period. I finished the White Queen and was hanging out desperately for the White Princess. When I finally watched it I was so disappointed. Maybe it's because I have an extensive historical knowledge of the era and it was so historically inaccurate? Or because I had grown accustomed to the White Queen and was disappointed that none of the original cast had returned? My favourite character in the White Queen was Jacquetta Woodville, of course she wouldn't appear in the White Princess, but I missed her all the same. Biggest disappointment in the White Princess was Lady Margaret Beaufort. Firstly, because I will always see Michelle Fairley as Lady Catelyn Stark, and secondly, the character wasn't portrayed remotely similar to Margaret in the White Queen. White Queen Margaret was hilarious to watch, being almost on the crazy side with her infamous piety and ambitious nature. Michelle Fairley didn't embody that at all.

If I want a White Queen/Princess binge, I watch the Queen series and read the Princess novel
