The Last Duel (2021)
How many times can you watch something...
Was expecting a surprise (Ridley Scott, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon screenplay, wow...), and indeed received it, but not a good one. The entire scene was very nice, medieval 100%, music ok. But, to have the movie focused on the rape of a lady, and to see this 3 times, is much too much; hard to imagine that such a horrible act can inflict such curiosity even to a perverted mind enjoying it. Hard to understand what those guys had in mind with the script. They could have analyzed "Rashomon" of Kurosawa to understand the mechanism of different angles for same story. But here, is quite the same thing, ending with watching the heroine being assaulted in the same way for 3 times. What a waste of time! Jodie Comer is doing the best for her position. Matt is having a different character, plain, dull, stupid, selfish, which is contradicting with his many heroic roles so far, and probably this was the idea, I hope, and not by chance. So, 2.5 hours of disappointment. Fortunately there is still Braveheart, Gladiator etc.
The Rhythm Section (2020)
One of the best! So underrated!
This is a top movie every second of it. Started wavering and gradually increased pace of tension, action, drama in such amazing way.
That girl, Blakey, is just incredible. How can she be a mother and playing such a thrilling role cannot understand. Unforgettable performance! But, please Blakey switch to tender, warm, sane jobs. Is really a drama to see such a beautiful mom get burning up by psychedelic characters.
