Shingeki no Kyojin: That Day: The Fall of Shiganshina, Part 2 (2013)
It's a harrowing day
There's something about the desperate attempts to board the last ship to escape the apocalypse that sends a shiver down my spine. Just imaging what it would be like to miss that last boat, shizz.
Also that bread shoved down the throat scene has to be some sort of fetish right?
Seems like a kinda hopeless situation at the moment aye? Also wondering why the big titan is taking so long. Highkey seems like that big boy should be able to just walk all the way through every wall and reach the centre in like a day or two. If not him then at least the speedy one.
Armin is also too nice aye. Why does there always have to be this incredibly pure sidekick? Classic caregiver character, i.e., Samwise Gamgee.

Loving the flavour
Fight scene here was pretty epic, the choreography was on point, loved HJ's entry with the taser-baton dual wield, goddam I love it. Metal bar sound effects sound metallic and painful. Only weapon of choice to top HJ goes to a newish character, Yang-jung, with his sushi knife and tendon-slicing precision. He's good and also good at fighting, praise God. Loved the 5 knifers backstory we got going, have to do a power-ranking at the end for both individuals and then groups. I fiend any "avenging our boys" story and "give the kids a chance" story, this bad boy has both. The big hippo-looking Beom gets double-teamed -- will they take him down? Hells yeah! Speedwork makes the dream work. Mustang can take a beating for shizz...
Sanyanggaedeul: Episode #1.1 (2023)
Dayum Gud
In episode 1, we're introduced to a Seoul overridden with Covid-induced small business debts and the loans sharks are having a frenzy. Kim Geon-woo, a boxer who makes up for his boyish naivete with his skill in the ring and his impressive humanity, befriends a fellow competitor and ex-marine, Hong Woo-jin, and together they face off against the deceptively-named "Smile Capital". We've got clear heroes to root for, some textbook villainy, but we've also got Choi Tae-ho, an ex-loan shark turned philanthropist, and his adopted granddaughter, Hyun-ju. Their paths only glance those of Geon-woo in this first episode, but they set up some juicy expectations for the future. Oh and what makes this drama really special is the boxing. Goddam it's beautiful.
