The Fall Guy (2024)
9/10
I never know a good enough title to put here, there's no antisemitism in this movie.
13 June 2024
The Fall Guy is such a fun movie through and through. The film is hard carried by Ryan Gosling and his incredible charisma and on screen chemistry with Emily Blunt. Every time they shared the screen, sparks were flying everywhere and violins were playing in the background in my mind that is.

The writing was incredibly funny and the lines were well delivered, although it felt a bit cliché but i felt drawn into the plot and was hooked the entire time. The action was amazing, the stunt choreo was impressive ( ya doy). This was a fun movie.

Honorary Mention - Winston Duke was a great addition to the cast and played his role perfectly if not better than perfect.

Mess of a Movie
8 March 2023
Ennalum Ente Aliya was an absolute disappointment. The writing and direction was incredibly inconsistent and the some of the characters like Sulu were absolute caricatures without any whim of reason.

The comedy in this movie worked out very rarely, barely a handful of chuckles. The story lacked any real substance or message and it felt as though the writer had created a big cesspool of comedic events and tried to shoehorn in as many cultural references and some social messaging but his attempt fared poorly.

The only acceptable thing in the movie was the acting by Suraj and Gayathri every other character was a hyperbole of a person that made my viewing of this movie incredibly hard.

3/10 would never rewatch.

Refreshing Comedy with Social Commentary
19 January 2023
As a member of the young male audience I speak for myself and a lot of men when i say that that feminism for the sake of feminism in movies is tiring and really not appreciated. However if you weave it into a personal story about struggle and freedom then it becomes relatable and enjoyable. This movie does just that. The protagonist journey through this patriarchial society is unfair as most women's are, it makes us root for this character whom we have crossed paths with at some point in our life.

The movie is a lighthearted comedy where all the new actors shone brightly. The limelight is of course stolen by Basil Joseph in a quite the convincing performance as the husband. Darshana Rajendran was simply amazing as lead as it goes without saying.

I had a great time (8/10)

Freddy (2022)

F
19 December 2022
Freddy is a dentist who lives a quiet introverted life. He goes on dates with women he meet on the matrimony website but from the first date we know that he is socially awkward and gets uncomfortable around women. At a family wedding he spots a beautiful woman and when he tries to approach her on the behest of his aunt, he gets assaulted by the woman's husband.

The same woman enters his life by walking into his clinic the next morning. Who is she? What does she want ?

Freddy has nothing remarkable or noteworthy, the premise must've looked good on paper but it's execution was abominable. Kartik Aaryan butchered this role with his bad acting, there's no real chemistry between the characters. The lead actress is absolutely beautiful and does a good job with her role. Watching this movie felt like a waste of time.

No, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The script that should've been scorched
13 December 2022
This movie just might make it's way into mainstream media and entertainment cinema and people just might applaud it but I will not let it off that easy.

I liked the story progression upto about halfway point in the movie which is when the story unveiled itself to show what it is, which is quite underwhelming to be honest. The protagonist's journey through the underworld is very generic, nothing new. There is pretty much no plot, his romance is very shallow and surface level, they try to send home the message of helpless men being pulled into violence but as the movie progresses it just becomes confusing and uninteresting to watch.

The last 20 minutes of the movie drives the nail in the coffin with it's rushed ending and poor editing. It pretty much destroyed my initial good impression of the movie.

The acting performances were good, writing and direction were the heavily flawed parts of the movie.

To sum it up, could've been done better.

Carefully Crafted Disaster
19 August 2022
Judging by the initial setting I expected a simple family film. As the movie progressed, the cracks in the story just broadened and it eventually became unbearable to watch.

Positives Great cast, good chemistry and comedy in the first half of the movie

Negatives Poor screenplay, comical acting from the antagonist, unreasonable character motivations.

If it were up to me, I'd snap this movie into non existence.

Barry : A modern day masterpiece
27 July 2022
This is one amazing show you're missing out on if you haven't seen it yet. The storytelling is stellar, the performances are touching, the comedy is gold, the emotions are real with this one.

I always used to remember Bill Hader as this quirky comic in forgotten comedy movies. Here he brings such raw emotion and talent to the character of Barry through his acting.

I would say the show is a well oiled machine, where each characters are cogs in a wheel that work well together.

No amount of rewrites could fix this movie
1 July 2022
Soubin tries to carry this movie forward singlehandedly but fails as his goofy gimmicks as the lovable A. I Kuttaaps can only do so much. Terrible plot idea, bad comedy, I felt sorry for all the actors that worked in this movie. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Good-bye One eyed Johny Grindelwald , Hello Mr Gellert Lecter
28 May 2022
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is a fan service to all the wizards and witches out there. The plot is fairly simple and the movie is pretty alright. I was never amazed by anything except for the wand fights sprinkled throughout the movie and some grandiose magic.

The acting was well done, the writing was yet again average. Mads Mikkelson as Grindelwald brought his own unique spin to the character, Jude Law played a great Dumbledore. The diversity in the group felt a bit forced but yet again I'm ready to overlook that in the spirit of Christmas. Fairly satisfied Potterhead signing off.

P. S - Petition to reboot Judge Dredd whereJude Law plays himself and thinks he's the law and the entire department has to work together to bring him down as he's too OP from his time spent in all the major franchises.

The Law Prevails

An absolute entertainer from the start to the end. Great action set pieces makes the movie an absolute treat to behold. Karl Urban as Judge Dredd does justice to the source material and I sure hope to see a sequel to this gem.

A Fine Well Made Movie
20 April 2022
Jan. E. Man was a refreshing change after all the terrible comedies in the past. The movie doesn't try hard to make you laugh but commits to it's screenplay. Every scene is well done, every actor does their role incredibly well. The result is a touching movie with a lot of heart. I'm gonna revisit this movie in the future that's for sure.

An action thriller movie with a deeper meaning
28 March 2021
The movie starts out slow kinda overdoing whatever they're doing by setting up the movie but it takes off and escalates to another level as the movie progresses.

I really liked the movie but my cousin who watched it with me absolutely hated it. So it's hard to have a definitive say in the matter, although the movie has some flaws i feel like they make up for it with it's strong suit such as the deep symbolism, cinematography and action.

Bold, provocative, colourful celebration of love, life and sex.
23 October 2020
This movie portrays what it feels like to be in love with a person so much that their body feels like a part of yours . It features too much sex which's it's pro and it's con as after a while it's mind numbing.

A farewell to our beloved character
12 March 2020
El Camino is a simple movie that does a great deal of fan service as it gives a fulfilling ending to one of our favourite characters from Breaking Bad. The movie displays Jesse's past trauma and suffering really well and shows the damage he has undergone. The old memories of his makes us reminisce of the good times, ultimately the movie is a great way to end the Breaking Bad saga.

Too complicated for it's sake
1 March 2020
This is a crime thriller movie about a serial killer that targets little kids. The premise is not so new so they didn't have alot to begin with anyways. Yet the movie tries hard to be a good detective movie but things that ruined it for me were 1)Overglorification of the protagonist in his introduction . 2) Story gets waay too convoluted after a point I didn't really feel engaged anymore. 3) Some lines which I felt were rather overused in movies that I found funny. 4) Main background score isn't that creepy or good as a matter of fact.

That was a list of all the things I liked about the movie, it is still a good movie. I wouldn't call it or great or new that's it. Ciao

For a good time when you're high
21 February 2020
Getting into the movie I was captivated by the visual imagery and the background and loved the direction of the movie starting with the mushroom trip. Along the way the movie just fell short and felt like any other cult gore movie.

This movie has some really good cinematography and deeper level meaning that kinda made me wish I was high while I was watching to enjoy the movie better.

when you bring me out...can you introduce me as the Joker ?
14 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
If you got fed up reading about how brilliant Joaquin Phoenix was in Joker,I'm sorry but i have to say that it's absolutely 100% true. He brought the movie to life with his performance, his portrayal of depressed, lonely Arthur Fleck was relatable and his descent to madness justified. The cinematic score highlighted his acting really well. The cinematography and colour tone was mesmerising and well done. There are certain things that could've been done better with the story on the civil protests and certain scenes could've been changed up a bit.

The last act of the movie actually left me with goosebumps. A truly mesmerising cinematic experience.

Incredible movie recalling the last few days of the second World War and Hitler's death. We get to see the war from the German side, the gritty realism and absolute horrors of war were simply well done. Great acting performances from everyone.

Pure Intense Gore
21 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The movie begins off with the protagonist getting involved in a student activist movement and deciding to join them in a trip to Peru to stop some large corporations from deforestation and uprooting some local indigenous tribes. The group somehow manages to do unaware while in reality that they've only postponed the inevitable, pack up and leave in joy only for their plane to crash and burn in the middle of jungle and get kidnapped by the natives and are brought to their village where they are subjected to unspeakable horrors.

The movie sets a benchmark for some really terrible acting and writing if you decide to watch this movie it must be for the raw mind numbing blood and gore. I don't see any other reason for people to watch this movie. For gore lovers this is an absolute 10/10. The scenes are pretty graphic and realistic. Personal favourite scene from the movie would be the one where the dude gets eaten alive by the entire village.

A good experience
28 April 2019
Considering this was the ending to the Shyamalan trilogy and a movie uniting the two prequels together it was a job well done. Everyone did their parts amazingly well, McAvoy was outstanding with his performance. However the ending the fell short on delivering us with something grand letting our expectations down. The movie title I thought suggested this part was focused on Mr Glass and turned out true as he does have a bigger part in the movie.

In the way the director envisioned it the movie had a pleasant sort of ending.
