Dexter: New Blood: Sins of the Father (2022)

Finally a worthy ending!
9 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Whilst some of the season felt a bit rushed and to some extent sloppy, I nevertheless thought it a worthy ending to a fantastic series unlike the previous one. I am glad this was not dragged into the judicial system. Harrison killing his father was a great move, also felt liberating! It reminded me of the serious finale of Six Feet Under and Claire driving away to start a new life.

Hard to top?!?
20 August 2021
This was a brilliant episode, seems hard to top and yet, they manage to do just that with every new episode. Well with my 10, I am maxed out!

Brilliant show with more brilliant Jean Smart
11 June 2021
Hacks is not just a comedy, but it is a witty, entertaining and often moving show. But the clear shining star is Jean Smart who plays the strong, cold-hearted, ambitious comedian and is yet so insecure and vulnerable. Every time I saw Jean in a show, I looked her up in IMDB because I liked her acting, after Hacks I will not forget her name anymore.

Liked the series but not the ending

Warning: Spoilers
I quite enjoyed this series, though sometimes slow, it did not get boring. However the last 30 minutes were disappointing. We don't know whether he did it or not. It is also highly doubtful a car crash like this would be survivable, yet both survived. Where do they go from here? I understand the concept of an open end but this was too open for me.

Not like that
6 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
"There is no good way to say goodbye" was the last thing Meredith says in this episode and she is right for this episode, first time I was glad I recorded it and could skip most of the boring stories. This is not a send-off that Alex and frankly us fans of the show deserved. Leaving for Izzy of all people and not even a farewell in person, worst departure ever!

Wasted opportunity
10 August 2019
The premise of the story was interesting however the writing was very poor thus the storytelling remains very shallow and predictable from beginning to the end. What a waste of the great talent of the three lead actresses, the three sons are less great, in particular Paul is absolutely not credible as gay son, in fact his appearance, movement and way of talking were so straight, the other two would have been better candidates for that role.

It could have been a good episode...

Warning: Spoilers
...if it were not for the stupidity of Lance, leaving all doors open behind him, having absolutely no plan how to survive this apocalypse. Well maybe there is some magic involved because his badly injured hand is miraculously healed within minutes.

Best Lovefilm ever
24 February 2006
Even though I read already a lot about it, I was not prepared to be so overwhelmed by this film. It really hit me only when I got out of the cinema, I just wanted to go home and be by myself. Heath Ledger as Ennis del Mar and Jake Gyllenhaal as Jack Twist are convincing and incredible actors and Ang Lee has topped himself again after the slip with Hulk. And it's true, this is not a gay film, it is a film about deep love and two lives of missed opportunities. The moments of unspoken passion, longing glances and caring togetherness during the short moments Jack and Ennis spend together are very strong and speak the universal language of love. Annie Proulx, the author of the story gave an interview in a Swiss magazine and she said that when they suggested the film project to her, she could not imagine that a Taiwanese director could bring across this atmosphere of rural Wyoming. But when she saw the completed movie, it hit her like a hammer because she did not like to admit that a movie could be more powerful in bringing emotions across than the written word. I guess there can be no bigger compliment for a film than that.
