Poor Things (2023)
I think Salvador Dali and Sean Carroll would have enjoyed this film
I very much enjoyed Poor Things and the performances done by Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe. I was absolutely taken by the surrealistic set design and even psychological interaction depiction between the doctor and his patient Bella. A complicated and fanciful character is Bella inhabiting the resurrected body of her mother via a brain transplant. Oh my such medical technology. It's a good thing that's not possible yet today. Bella was gifted a free experience as she became conscious of the world and herself by her brilliant surgeon father a vocation as it turns out would become her lifetime vocation. The story continued on briefly after her father's death and an extensive excursion through life, relationships, and time. Generally speaking storyline, cinematography, set design, location, interactive character development we're all done to perfection. I've only touched on it a microscopic portion of the scope of this film. So much to enjoy here this little paragraph doesn't even begin to do it justice.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Avatar 2
As was true of the first Avatar film Avatar The Way of water has all of the very very good special effects necessary to present a quality film of this character. Most certainly story development of Avatar The Way of water was lacking both in content and associated meeting. Directing seemed more soap opera quality than feature film level quality. Far too predictable is an app comment on the second story involving the planettoid Pandora and the indigenous species known as Pandora's American Indians as Hollywood studios would depict them. A major let down from the first film which was both unique and interesting. I would caution against a third film.
Ink (2009)
Plot Cast Writers
I rated this movie at 3 stars. A generous 1 for the generation of a plot of which I'm sad to say is cliche if it exists at all. As for the cast all performers must begin somewhere unfortunately for the actors it happens to be here, but at least it's a start. Regarding the writers I wish there were some. Generally don't waste your time on this unless you have absolutely nothing else going on in your life. Even then I'm sure just staring in space would be a much better past time. 1930s 1940s cinematography works in some films but not in this one. Special effects common to the industry for decades now are not used to good effect. To the producers you know what you did!
Away (2020)
Embarrassing use of Netflix
It's hard to write a review on this program because it falls short I'm almost all areas production. What jumps out at the offset is the total lack of technical accuracy or even attempt to reflect reality. Combining this with shabby writing terrible direction terrible casting terrible acting terrible set design silly and badly executed plot and storyline. I don't know if one is low enough for a rating. Overall much worse than nauseating.
