I was about 10 y.o. and always wanted to know how Michael Bentine got his Bumblies to hang on the ceiling, since I was sure they were string puppets. I wish I could see them again...

I wish I remembered it better!

I was ~10 when this was on, but remembered only the 1st two lines of Billy Bean's song as found on other web sites. I had not remembered the bird either, but the egg rolling down a to-and-fro incline sounds familiar. So many live shows are no longer available since no-one had recording equipment!
