Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5 (2009)
I was looking for it!
... for a good amount of time, actually. One day, I bumped accidentally onto "NASCAR Racers" (which is very similar in its vibe to "Battle Force 5") and then I've thought: "Wait, girl, doesn't it remind you of something?". And the first thing that popped into my head was this show.
So, let's start out with the writting and characters, for a change. I really like the characters and even as a teen, I think the concept of five spunky young humans fighting against a cult of antropomorphic, rogue mutant animals is pretty nice and sounds convincing.
The animation doesn't look bad. It's colourful and bouncy, in a good way. Not an eye-sore like "PJMasks" (I know there's a crowd for this show, but I DON'T belong in that crowd, personally, so don't attack me!). It's relatively smooth and fluid. I really liked that part, too.
I didn't listen to the English dub, but I can tell something about my country's version. It was well-translated, the actors did an exceptionally good job. I really give a credit to the Polish version of show's dub. It's calm and very nice.
The show however, had a small issue to me. There might be some cliché scenes, but that's my only small complaint. Also, it's not a show for everybody. But I'm completely OK with it.
In conclusion, I think that it's one of the better shows, as by Mattel standards. Also, as far as I like it, I'd rather be careful with recommending it to anyone. But if you like it, go ahead & watch it.
Ginga Densetsu Weed (2005)
A decent anime
I agree with the first reviewer - it's an anime aimed strictly on the 12 & up demographic. Not just for it's violence and themes, but also the profanity might be a little too much for young children. But I recommend it for older viewers. I was like 12-13 when I started to watch it.
I LOVE the animation. It's not bad at all, but yeah, goofs happen. I like the new designs of the characters. They still have the charm "Ginga Nagareboshi Gin" had. The visuals kinda remind me of the "Inazuma 11" anime.
The voice acting is very nice. I'm delighted with mrs. Kukoryu's performances as Weed and (in a different anime!) Beyal. She sid a great job. Other actors of course, did well, too.
I've got a little problem with it's sloppy writting, but this is at times. For the most of the episodes, it's very pleasant, narrative-wise. I loved the stories as well.
Despite of many people complaining on Weed, he's a likeable character! He might be making mistakes, but it happens to all of us. I also like Kyoushiro and Ryo very much.
The music totally works!
Overall, "Ginga Densetsu Weed" is not for everyone and neither is it a perfect anime, but still - not a terrible one (at least for me). If you wanna check it out, then go ahead. You may not like it, however it's alright.
Nina Needs to Go (2014)
Not my cup of tea
So, I'd like to make it clear already at the start: it's fine if you or kids like the show, I just can't personally get into it. To avoid of the anger of the fans - this is NOT the absolutely worst of the trash, but it's not a precious gem either.
Also, keep in mind, that this is ONLY MY PERSONAL OPINION & I'm glad you liked it.
The animation is OK. It's not very ugly, but I wouldn't call it especially artistic either. The style kinda reminds me of "Peppa Pig", with a prettier coat of paint and nicer character designs. All in all, the animation isn't outright bad, however it doesn't mean I haven't seen better.
The effects totally work, to the show's credit.
I can't put my finger on the voice acting. It's pretty good. It might not be on "Avatar: The Last Airbender" level, but it's not ear-grating at least. Hey, they talk like normal people!
The dailoge isn't painfully bad or gibberish.
My biggest problem with the show is how abstract and non-sense the it is. Now, "RedaKai" or "MonSuno" weren't super normal, but they were imaginative , entertaining and clever (I know they have foul reputation, but still, I love them). But back to "Nina needs to go!", it's also boring to me, inspite of being fast-paced & motion-packed. Well, the creators were at least trying, but this isn't it yet. Not for too long.
So, in conclusion, "Nina needs to go!" is not a great show, but not garbage either. 3\10 for now.
Supa Strikas (2008)
Very nice!
I'm a girl, also not a big fan of football... However I still love the show!
There might be a few cheesy jokes here and there, but very few... Extremely faaaaaaar in between and they aren't the focus and I'm able to tolerate them.
The animation is cool, I love the characters. What else to say! 9\10.
