For Here or to Go? (2015)
Here or to go, gone with the winds?!
'For Here or to Go',.....gone with the winds!
(But a must watch for all NRIs.)
The subject is so touchy about dilemmas of NRIs( whether to continue as NRI with ampteen problems or to come back to homeland with dear ones!)
Here or to go means,in the USA after you order eatables; its commonly ask question whether you want it to eat there( here) or want a parcel? ( or to go? ),but after watching the movie ,you may cancel the order itself! Ha ha
Ali Fazal,Omi Vaidya,Rajit Kapoor all carry the film on their shoulder but....
Rucha Humnabadkar's direction lacks the skill and depth in storey telling.Alas!!
A young Silicon Valley software professional face this problem when his potential employers decide against giving him the job he desperately needs because of inadequate paperwork. So homeland calls him back for safety and comfort.
FBi inquiry makes them feel like alieans and fear of the unknown makes them anxious.
But few want the luxury and comfort of USA.
Deportation of immigrants, recession and uncertainty of foreign land could have been dealt in a more better way.
Good ingredients but bad final recipe, gone with the winds...@Dr.Vijay Athalye.2020
Class of 83 (2020)
Class of 83,old class in old school!
CLASS OF 83,OLD CLASS IN OLD SCHOOL!
This subject of police encounters is not new and here the treatment is also not innovative except Bobby Deol as the dean Vijay Singh of police training academy. It is loosely based on S. Hussain Zaidi's book, The Class of '83: The Punishers Of Mumbai Police,.
Class of 83 is a gritty drama about a batch of police officers trained at Nashik, who become famed encounter specialists in Bombay.
Notorious gangsters.used to rule Mumbai with the help of politicians in 1980s.
The book is based on real-life cops, like Pradeep Sharma and Vijay Salaskar, who trained under DGP Arvind Inamdar when he was head of the Maharashtra Police Academy..But the movie claims to be fictional and justifies the encounter by Plato's philosophy of
"Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws."
To cast forgotten hero Bobby was the experiment and he also does the experiment with five cadets :played by newcomers Ninad Mahajani, Bhupendra Jadawat, Sameer Paranjape, Hitesh Bhojraj and Prithvik Pratap, all of whom have acted well.
There are few good scenes and Bombay of 80s is well depicted but thats all.
Everything you have seen ampteen times,so
director Atul Sabharwal offers you same old wine in old bottle.
This class is now streaming on Netflix and attend this class only if you dont have anything else to do,otherwise just bunk it!@ Dr.Vijay Athalye.2020
Khuda Haafiz (2020)
Khuda hafiz literally!
*Khuda Hafiz, literally!!!*
Khuda Haafiz' means 'May God be your Guardian' .Literally the protagonists get convenient help from so many; in a foreign country like ,Sultanate of Noman!( heard it for first time)
The new ambience pleases you and the subject is engaging but it goes in a bollywood way in the second half.First half gets distinction but at the end it just manages to pass with grace marks.
The violence is too much.
But Vidyut has acted nicely and has got full scope to flex his facial muscles in addition to body muscles!
Shivaleeka Oberoi as Nargis has less scope.Annu Kapoor is natural.
Music is ok.
Overall its a one time movie to watch only if you are a Vidyut fan!
Khuda Hafiz to you@Dr.Vijay Athalye.2020.
Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)
URI a must watch
URI THE SURGICAL STRIKE@ A must watch as a tribute to our brave soldiers
Uri attack was an attack by four heavily armed militants on 18 September 2016, near the town of Uri in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It was reported as "the deadliest attack on security forces in Kashmir in two decades". The militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed was blamed by India of being involved in the planning and execution of the attack.
On September 29, eleven days after the attack, the Indian Army announced that it had conducted retaliatory "surgical strikes" on what it termed "launch-pads" used by militants in POK.(Pakistan Occupied Kashmir)
This real story is made reel story by director Aditya Dhar as Uri the movie.
Protagonist major Vihaan Singh Shergill played by Vicky Kaushal makes you believe its really happening in front of your eyes.
Till the end you are eager and excited to see the strategies and actual surgical attack.
Vicky has additional home battle also for his mother suffering from alzheimer's disease.
Vicky exels both in showing action and emotions.
The war sequences ,the background music, dramatization and technical support all are excellent.
Though the movie is predictable and not very different from other war movies we get involved in it.It makes us think how difficult is the job of our soldiers and army, navy ,airforce and we watch it in cosy seats in a luxurious AC theatre with hot chocolate in your hands. We feel ashamed for a moment(and start eating popcorns again as always Bhagat Singh should be born in neighbour's house)
It takes you out of your comfort zone and that's the success of story telling and adirection.
All war stories are enthralling becomes true here.
You think about politicians, their power and limitations also.
Background music adds to the action and few songs are easily forgettable.
You feel like having a sequel of it in reel life and in real life also till all militants are destroyed and never dared to reborn!
.A must watch for every Indian.@Dr.Vijay Athalye2019.
Ani... Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar (2018)
Ani....Worth watching once
Its always challenging to present biography of any popular person on screen as people have their own concepts about that person and they may have read books, heard news about that person or seen him.
And if it is about popular and complicated person like Dr.Kashinath Ghanekar it is more difficult.
But Abhijeet Deshpande has succeeded in lifting this bow of Lord Shiva!
Subodh Bhave has done full justice to the character and is supported by Prasad,Sonali,Vaidehi,Sumit ,Nandita etc.
The make up artist has failed in showing the growing age of any character as the story covers so many years.
The inner conflits of a narcissist actor and his downhill journey is well portrayed but it doesn't touch you emotionally and you remain just a spectacter without getting involved.
Also that particular period is not exactly elaborated (so it remains a drama on screen)
