Too long and justice was not done
28 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really cannot understand the American justice system. They let a cop killer go because some people involved made a few mistakes? When I look at the evidence, I still believe he did it, which was also in the confession of his friend. Does that friend's trial have to be done again now, because he admitted Ellis was the shooter? I recently saw another documentary about someone that tested drugs in a lab, but got addicted herself. Although she did not make one fault in these tests, all the cases that were involved were thrown out and the convicts were free again. Really? American justice???

And to drag this story for so long, two or maximum three episodes would have been more than enough.

I'm glad I live in a country with a real justice system ...

How to Get Away with Murder
12 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If this is justice in the US, I feel even more sorry for Americans than I did before. Was there abuse in this household? Probably. But never so that there were marks of it on the body. The mother got the worst of the emotional abuse. Did she kill anyone? No, she left, which seems like the sensible thing to do. This guy could have done the same thing. He didn't. In my opinion, you never have the right to kill someone. Which is much easier here in Europe because hardly anyone has a weapon. I am not a betting man, but I think the chances are high that he is going to kill again. Experts have been wrong before, they are wrong now again.

Interesting try-outs
22 January 2022
I found these try-outs to be very interesting. Some of them were actually quite good, some of them (cooking, president) were not so great. But is that not the purpose of trying things out? Better to do it this way than to make a complete season that sucks.

Not too bad, but slow and predictable
27 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Someone somewhere thought he/she had a brilliant idea. Why did they ever invented the guillotine? That only could have been to dacapitate zombies/vampyres of course. Let's make a movie of this idea, no better still, let's make a series of it! Unfortunately, after the first season the brilliant idea hasn't come up yet. The acting is not too bad, the story goes very slow and most of the time you are wondering where this is going. To the guillotine of course. The only question is how much seasons are they going to wait till it comes up ... If you want to see a dark series that has superior acting and a very good script, I would recommend "the Alienist". Forget about this one.

not funny
17 November 2016
There seems to be a new genre of funny series. The first one of these I saw was "Master of None". You can watch it, the actors do a nice job, but where is the humor, where are the situations that make you laugh? Unfortunately this series is just the same. I am watching everything that goes on between the main characters, but (after two episodes) not once I had to smile, certainly not laugh. As lots of stereotypes are used, the show cannot be watched as "drama". Then what was the intention of the makers? We can only guess. But that it does not work is a certainty. Please bring back shows like Seinfeld. This is depressing. The six is for effort of the actors. Fire the script writers and give them something better to work with. Something funny maybe?

missed chance
6 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this recently. The show is good, most actors are good, script is good, etc. What is the problem then? It is the actor who plays Charles Manson. If you don't know Manson, look him up on Youtube. You will see a charismatic guy, with madness in almost everything he says and does. In the show I can't find anything of that. He is just another hippie, totally unbelievable in his role. Some scenes, like when he tries to bully Cut, even made me burst out in laughter, which of course was not the intention of the makers. It is a pity, as the idea and the rest of the series are pretty good. Fire the casting director. And re-shoot the Manson scenes with a good actor. One of the biggest missed chances I have ever seen; and I have seen hundreds of TV shows ...

flop
18 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This is a series about two of the most talented singers Holland ever had (Shaffy and List). Unfortunately none of the two star (?) actors can make this believable. They have the charisma of dead fish and their singing is, in the best case, weak. When there would be an Oscar for overacting, Maarten Heijmans would win it without a doubt. Compare this to the real persons by searching some songs of them on the web. You will be amazed. Both of them could blow you away with a song. Furthermore, the series has not enough of the great music in it and seems to focus on other things that are not important at all. The time you could shock people by showing two men kissing is long gone, but not for the makers of this series. So what if Shaffy was gay, bi or straight; I want to hear the music. This series is a missed chance. I am going to search for a good documentary on the web about Shaffy and List. Hopefully it will make me forget this flop.

why, why, why?
13 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This show has me wondering all the time "why?". Hank so loves Karen, they break up very badly after she hears about him and Mia and when he gets out of jail, first thing he does is jump into bed with Mia again. Why? He drives a Porsche with only one headlight, gets fined for it, but months later it is still the same. Why? Does police not force you after a fine to come back and show it is repaired? Here they do anyway. Does Hank think it is "cool" to drive with a car which endangers other people? And if he does, why? When a series goes on for so long, you at least can expect to get some insight in the characters, what drove them to act in the way they do. But sadly enough that is not the case here. A real waste of some good actors. And a waste of my time watching :-(. Be warned ...
