My fav
23 August 2007
My favorite movie of all time, hands down. I watched it for the first time in the theatre. As it ended, the audience sat motionless and quiet for several beats, then burst into loud applause as the ending credits rolled. I'm not always so prophetic, but I was incredibly moved. I said to my husband, "We've just seen the Academy Award winner." If I had no other basis for recommendation, I would say the breathtaking cinematography and transporting musical score would make a viewing worthwhile . But these are merely the window dressings. The screenplay is enchanting. Also, without an understanding of the historical times, it would be too easy to say simplistically that this is a woman trying to live within the terms of a marriage of convenience and then compensating with pursuit of a doomed passion. What was crafted out of a mishmash of a more-or-less factual account is still a beautiful love and adventure story.

Captivity thrills
18 April 2007
Captivity was such a good movie and I can't wait to see the reshoot one. I know that the directors thought it would be a good idea to put more gore in but I think the gore is enough. This movie has plenty of suspense and thrills to keep you guessing. The plot is not that hard to understand but if you miss some parts of it you could get lost. Elisha and Daniel do a great job with the characters and they really work well with one another. I can't understand why the mpaa is doing a serious injustice with this movie, holding back its ratings, anyhow this movie will be great for many people to watch. I think that the gore in this movie along with its symbolism will go a long way.

Scarface (1983)
Scarface
10 April 2007
Scarface is a 1983 film directed by Brian De Palma, written by Oliver Stone and starring Al Pacino as Antonio "Tony" Montana. A remake of the 1932 Howard Hawks gangster film, it tells the story of a fictional Cuban refugee who comes to Florida in 1980 as a result of the Mariel Boatlift.

Tony becomes a gangster against the backdrop of the 1980s cocaine boom. The film chronicles his rise to the top of Miami's criminal underworld and subsequent downfall. The film is loosely based on the 1932 fictionalized Al Capone biopic, Scarface. Scarface, upon its first release, drew controversy regarding the violence and graphic language in the film, however, this movie is an actual portrayal of real life drug dealers. This movie is great entertainment.

ALone with her
22 February 2007
A man (Colin Hanks) hopes to start a relationship with a woman (Ana Claudia Talancon) by planting hidden cameras and listening devices in her home and learning her secrets. The film is shot entirely through hidden cameras, including a "body cam" worn by Hanks. Written and directed by Eric Nicholas. This movie takes Voyerism to the 20 yard line. Ana Claudia is not only a terrific actress, but very good looking. The film is creepy as a good thriller should be. This film is a work of art, it is that simple. It is completely original and crossed many lines that a standard Hollywood film would never cross. This film will entertain many for many years to come. It might not be the greatest work, but hey it will bring out the voyeur in you.
