TAKE A BOW - The Ingrid Clarfield Story
“TAKE A BOW” is the extraordinary life story of Ingrid Clarfield, a remarkable contemporary educator and inspirational figure. When I first met Professor Clarfield I was amazed by her engaging personality and ability to communicate. From the way she moved on stage, it was unbelievable to learn she had a stroke two years before. Our meeting had a profound effect on me. I asked myself “what can I do to make a difference in someone else's life?” Ingrid ignited my passion to make this film because I know her story will resonate and inspire others.
Ingrid is a respected Professor of piano at Westminster Choir College. She has traveled extensively giving workshops and lectures to thousands of students and teachers from coast to coast.
March 29 2007, the day after she returned from Toronto where Music Teacher National Conference had been held, Ingrid experienced a devastating stroke that paralyzed the left side of her body. This could have been the end of her career, however Ingrid has shown not only that she could come back to teach, but that she could be even better than before. The stroke taught her to find creative new ways to do what she loves: Teach!
The film takes the audience to the present day Ingrid. We will get to know who Ingrid is and how she interacts with her students, colleagues, and family members. The film will document Ingrid's physical therapy sessions and we witness her determination to overcome life's obstacles.
