A.R.T. the DIA project - Seven the General
Detroit emcee/actor Seven the General & Platinum Producer Nick Speed outline & document their 2013 Detroit Music Award nominated "A.R.T. the DIA project LP. The film explores hip-hop on the other-side of the infamous 8 Mile road.
Seven the General is known for his riveting appearance performance in "Murder City Detroit 100 years of Crime & Violence" as well as "The Ghost of Saint Aubin" After spending nearly a decade in the Michigan Department of Corrections for a crime he did not commit, Seven the General returned to society with a mission of music and redemption. After airing on FM 98 WJLB Seven the General's music would catch the ear of producer Nick Speed.
Nick Speed is a platinum producer with credits that include 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Danny Brown, J Dilla, 2Pac and a slew of other notable hip hop legends.
Seven & Speed have worked together on J Dilla' Dillatroit/Rebirth of Detroit LPs, as well as Universal Music's K'Jon (I Get it In) and many other projects. The two were nominated for Detroit Music Awards in 2013. "Knowhere" by Seven the General off the A.R.T. LP was nominated for "Outstanding Electronic/Dance Recording" and Seven nominated for "Outstanding Hip-Hop MC"
