The Berry Springs Waste Warriors hope the adhesive on their solar powered drip irrigation system has held, so they put the prototype to the test - only time will tell if it will work. Meanwhile, they get underway with Waste Free Wednesdays, introducing "nude food" to stop their classmates bringing soft plastics to school. There's a surprise when Red Dust rappers Wayne and Simmie stop by to help them devise their rap song. With only three weeks until they perform there is still a lot to do. At Fremantle College, the good news is that the vegetable scraps have grown. The bad news is that the seeds in the egg cartons have not. Thankfully Mr Glorie has a great idea - aquaponics - so they raid the science storeroom and get on with the build. In Tasmania, team Taroona renew an old bathtub and build a home-sweet-home for some new friends - worms that is. Freida never passes up an opportunity to implement the 5 Rs, so she tops off the worm farm with recycled door. But these worms are hungry, so Freida and her team head to food scrap heaven - the canteen - in search of scraps. Surf's up when a pro-surfer issues the weekly challenge to team Taroona to "get frothing" and save water around the school. They discover that installing water-saving aerators to taps is "easy peasy" and so too is estimating their impact. The results are amazing. Saving water is simple so Sinon delivers some 'water-wise' suggestions.

The countdown is on to the Waste Warriors' Big Reveal. It's been a long journey and now it's time to see whether the little seeds of sustainability, planted eight weeks ago, have grown into big changes for the Waste Warriors' schools.
Team Berry Springs has managed to build the remaining drip irrigation systems; all six of them have been out in the midday sun. The verdict: Dr Jeremy's new design is a total success, sparking a mix of jubilation and relief among the crew. Six drip irrigation systems are being powered completely by the sun, with the potential to save Berry Springs Primary a massive 55,000 litres of water every year! Now, it's time to pump their remaining energy into making their rap debut. The Waste Warriors and their sidekicks have brought the rap skills, and Lawrence has brought along an old friend: Wayne from Red Dust, who drops by to help fine-tune the dance routine ahead of the Warriors' show at the local markets. The team from the Top End are all set to bring their message to the community.
In Fremantle, as Sinon and his sidekicks are putting the finishing touches on their garden, Lawrence arrives with a gift for their Grand Opening. Sinon and the team get down to business one last time, gardening, decorating and harvesting so that everything will be ready for when their guests arrive. The Grand Opening is a great success: not only is the garden a beautiful oasis of sustainability, but it's also managed to almost halve the Home Ec Department's carbon emissions! Finally it's time for the taste test: Mr Draper chows down on garden goodies, including weeds, and every guest receives a parting gift of pickles prepared by the waste-wise Warrior team.
Checking in with Freida and her team in Taroona, Lawrence learns of their plan to bring the entire community together in the creation of their mural, which everyone will contribute to at the Zero Waste Festival. Team Taroona have definitely done some amazing work, but will they pull everything together in time for the festival? Each of the 5 Rs is to have a stall, and that means one huge logistical leap for the students. In the end they pull together and get the job done: the Festival is a huge success, with massive community participation and lots of knowledge sharing. From the Waste Warriors to the Principal, everyone is inspired to continue their good work with the 5 Rs into the future. Mission: accomplished.
And to keep the fuzzy feels going, Lawrence reminds us that for all the bad news out there about the environment, there is a whole lot of good happening, too. From the decline of fossil fuels, to plastic bag bans, from Indigenous Rangers to investment in renewables, there's plenty of things to inspire hope. We're all part of a global movement and we're in this together.
